One day Dad I will tell your story so your grandchildren and great-grandchildren do not have to deal with the hurtful and insensitive words like this.

You are so loved and missed. You were always kind, you believed in the good in people. Which I know this post does not represent all people. But it does not mean we ignore this anymore.

I know we can all do better🧡

We came home to England and placed flowers for Nana and Grandad Stead, also where a few of your ashes are Dad. I showed Angie and Taiya where we would go to Poole Park. The swans are still very feisty!

Mum and Aunty Hazel before us, and your granddaughters Angela and Taiya, Georgina (me) and Lisa. We had a few tears and a laugh Mum left her glasses!

We were leaving and I said I guess I won’t see the fox this time, Each time I have been there I see a fox.

Well, the crows started crowing loudly and Angie looked to see why and there it was; a fox. I used to think it was a coincidence but now I know it isn’t. We miss you and love you, Dad.

International Mental Health day. Over the years I have been very open of my own struggles and how I “live” with mental illness.

I still hope that one day that one day mental illness will lose the stigma. I want you to know that you are not alone. That I do understand the dark days, the days it is hard to get out of bed and the tiredness you feel thinking that you feel this way for the rest of your life.

The truth is there is not a “one” fix. It takes many small steps at a time, support, for me medication and most of all self-compassion. The truth is some day’s you may not feel like you want to be here. I know this too. We can still be “here” in this place together.

I would to tell you that Yoga is all you need but it isn't. Please ask for help, if you are feeling like the pain and darkness is getting too much. It you know someone sad; ask them if they are have suicidal thoughts. Tell them you are there. Offer time to sit with them and simply make them a cup of tea.

I hope you can join me at 5:30PM. Begin Within is a simple and beautiful practice to honour the healing aspect of yoga and to have compassion of what the emotions are going on within you.

💜August is overdose awareness month. My friend Alison Burke-Watson asked me to read Return or the Hungry Ghost.

💜To become a caring society, we must remember that this crisis happens to all of us, not “those people.”

💜Our love for beautiful Celebrating the Beautiful Life of Carly Watson is still very raw.

💜I urge you to read or listen to this book to understand addiction better. My father attended weekly AA meetings and struggled up until the last two years of his life. It did affect how long he lived with all of us who loved him. It does not matter what your addiction is… it is sadly so misunderstood.
