Feeling tight, achy, or just not like yourself? 🌿

Osteopathy is a gentle, hands-on approach that supports the body’s natural ability to heal and rebalance.

By working with the muscles, joints, and connective tissues, we help improve movement, ease tension, and support overall function.

Many people come in for:
✨ neck & shoulder tension
✨ low back discomfort
✨ headaches
✨ general stiffness or feeling “off”

We are currently welcoming new patients with Aine 🌿

If you’ve been thinking about booking, this is a gentle place to start.

Do your joints feel worse on rainy spring days?🌧️🌿
You’re not imagining it..

Warmer days are starting to peek through… but with the ups and downs in temperature, damp air, and rainy days, many people notice their joints feeling more stiff or achy this time of year.

Here’s why:

1️⃣ Changes in air pressure can affect joint sensitivity
Fluctuations in barometric pressure (common with rain and storms) may slightly influence the tissues around joints—making them feel more sensitive or achy.

2️⃣ Dampness can make tissues feel heavier or stiff
Cool, rainy weather can reduce circulation slightly and leave muscles and fascia feeling less responsive and a bit sluggish.

3️⃣ Temperature swings challenge the body to adapt
Warm one day, cold the next—your body is constantly adjusting, which can lead to temporary tightness or discomfort.

4️⃣ Less consistent movement on rainy days
We often move less when it’s grey and wet outside, which can contribute to stiffness—especially in the spine, hips, and knees.

🌿 Spring aches are often about environmental changes, not damage.

Gentle movement, staying warm, and keeping your body moving regularly can help support ease through the seasonal shift. 🤍

The early signs of spring are starting to appear here 🌿

Longer days, A little more sunshine, Temperatures slowly warming.

This time of year often brings a gentle shift in energy. After months of winter, many people feel the pull to move a little more, going for walks, getting outside, or beginning some spring cleaning at home.

It can also be a nice moment to check in with yourself and revisit the intentions you set at the start of the year.

Not with pressure — just with curiosity.

What small habits or routines help you feel your best?

As the seasons change, your body is adapting too. Supporting movement, mobility, and balance can help make that transition feel easier.

Here’s to a slow and steady transition into spring. ☀️🌷

✨Fun Fact Friday 🦴

Ligaments don’t create movement, they guide and support it.

In the spine and pelvis, ligaments act like gentle guide-ropes, helping maintain stability while still allowing the body to move safely and efficiently.

Here’s a question patients often ask:

Ligaments attach bone to bone.
Tendons attach muscle to bone.

Both are important for healthy movement they just have different roles.

✨One spinal ligament is especially unique:
The ligamentum flavum is naturally elastic.
It stretches and recoils with movement, helping the spine bend and straighten smoothly between vertebrae.

Your body is designed with both flexibility and support built in.

✨ Mindful Body Note - Stability doesn’t mean stiffness it means support.

🌿✨A fresh start for the new year ✨🌿
I’ve been slowly refreshing the treatment space to make it feel even more calm, supportive, and grounding.
New sage green chairs for comfort, a clearer open layout, fresh plants, warm salt lamps, and an anatomy wall that brings everything together.

Your nervous system is always welcome here 🌿

🦴 📚 Fun Fact Friday

Your lumbar vertebrae (L1–L5) are the largest bones in your spine, built to support body weight and allow powerful, functional movement.

🦴Facet joints
Each lumbar vertebra connects to the one above and below through small facet joints.
These joints:
• Guide movement
• Limit excessive twisting
• Provide stability while still allowing motion

They’re a big reason your low back is strong and steady, not meant for extreme rotation.

🥏Intervertebral discs
The discs between each vertebra aren’t just cushions they’re made of multiple layers of strong, flexible tissue designed to absorb load.

Fun disc facts:
• Each disc has many concentric layers (like rings of a tree)
• Healthy discs can tolerate significant compressive force
• Gentle movement helps draw in fluid and nutrients, they thrive on motion

✨The spine is designed for strength, support, and movement — not rigidity.

Structure supports function — but movement keeps tissues healthy.

Is Low Back Pain Holding You Back?

It can feel sharp, dull, tight, or radiate down the legs—and it often shows up when you least expect it.

As an Osteopathic Manual Therapist , I take a holistic approach to uncover the why behind your pain. That might mean addressing joint restrictions, muscle tension, poor posture, or even stress-related tension.

Osteopathic treatment can help by:
• Improving spinal mobility
• Releasing tight muscles and fascia
• Supporting better posture and movement habits
• Reducing inflammation and pain
• Promoting long-term recovery—not just a quick fix

Cold weather, shoveling, and longer periods of sitting can all place extra demand on the low back. If you’re noticing more discomfort, it may be time for support.

Let’s get you moving better.

Aine Broda is welcoming new patients and works with the same thoughtful, whole-body approach to care.

🌿How osteopathy supports the nervous system 🧠💫

Much of osteopathic care isn’t about “fixing” a problem, it’s about creating the right conditions for the nervous system and body to settle.

Osteopathic Manual treatment supports this system by:

🌿 providing slow, non-threatening sensory input to the body
🌿reducing protective muscle and fascial tension
🌿 improving communication between the brain, spine, and tissues
🌿 supporting circulation of fluids that nourish nerves and tissues
🌿 encouraging a shift from sympathetic (fight-or-flight) activity toward parasympathetic (rest-and-digest)

When the nervous system feels supported, the body often requires less effort to hold itself together.

This is why osteopathy can feel subtle, yet deeply settling, especially during winter when stress, fatigue, and stiffness tend to accumulate.

Care that meets your nervous system where it is.
