✨ MEET PRIYA! ✨
“My work as a therapist meets at the intersections of seeking to understand my clients lived life experience, their ancestral history, and socio-economic and political community they are contained in. I bring both my clinical expertise and personal experiences into my work with clients. I grew up a deeply sensitive and intuitive child, who felt quite alone in this world. I struggled navigating my early life experiences, intergenerational trauma, and cultural expectations.
I know what it feels like to live disconnected from my body. I know what it is like to feel caught between two worlds and navigate culture and familial expectations. I know what it is like to seek connection and improve the quality of my relationships. I not only understand the clinical aspects of trauma recovery but also embody it.
My own experiences in healing have left me feeling deeply passionate about supporting people who connect deeply within themselves and alchemize their own suffering into something more. Into something delicious, sensual, joyful, and grounded.
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor, a Certified EMDR Therapist, M**A Provisional Associate, trained in Internal Family Systems, Emotion Focused Therapy and Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy. I am currently completing the advanced educational requirements to become certified as a s*x therapist. The clinical modalities I integrate into the therapeutic container are the very ones in which have supported me live a more embodied and joyfilled life.
Some things you may want to know about me: I am a daughter, niece, Massi/Aunty, partner, friend, artist, and student. I am bold, direct, fallible, intuitive, caring, and clumsy. I have a loud laugh and even louder personality. I am a deep thinker, outgoing introvert, and avid reader. I am someone who invites conversations about things we are often taught to keep quiet: cults, death, spirituality, s*xuality, and psychedelics with friends and strangers (honestly anyone who will entertain me). I believe memes normalizing mental health are a true art form, and that’s often why people choose to work with me.”
