We’re celebrating Speech & Hearing Month, Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) Month, and Pediatric Feeding Disorder Awareness Month- all close to our hearts and the amazing families we support every day.

From first words to confident communication, from safe swallowing to joyful mealtimes, we’re here for it all 🤟

3 years ago we made this appreciate post about our team... and now, three years later, with a bigger team, it still rings true more than ever:

I never thought that when we started our business less than 4 years ago, we would build a team we consider our family.

We are happy this is our home away from home, and this is the family we get to spend our days with.

Big news from Speech Hens! 🐔

We’re excited to share that we now offer adult home health services through our partnership with CBI Home Health and Ontario Health at Home!

This means we can bring high-quality speech and language services directly to you in the comfort of your own home across Norfolk County.

Adult services may include:
🧠 Rehabilitation for speech and swallowing following a stroke
🥄 Swallowing (dysphagia) assessments and support
💬 Communication therapy for various needs (e.g., Parkinson's Disease, ALS).

We know that healing and progress happen best where you feel most comfortable. Our team is here to provide compassionate, personalized care- meeting you where you’re at, every step of the way. Our three highly- experienced and supportive SLPs are the perfect addition to your circle of care!

⭐️Speech Hens welcomes a new team member to our coop: Emily Boyd! ⭐️

We are so excited to grow again and have Emily join us!!

↪️ Emily is an SLP who earned her degree from University at Toronto
↪️ She is passionate about bringing essential SLP services to rural communities (just like us!!)
↪️ Emily is dedicated to providing clients of all ages compassionate and functional communication and swallowing therapy!

The therapy rooms are buzzing and the materials are stacked high! From fun games and sensory bins to AAC devices and literacy tools.... every material is ready to help our clients soar. 🐔

This is our busiest time of day, filled with laughter, learning, and meaningful moments. Behind every busy clinician is a session filled with passion and purpose!

Today is World Autism Day, an annual observance to raise awareness about autism spectrum disorder (ASD). ❤️🩵

At Speech Hens, we celebrate and support all voices...because communication looks different to everyone and all voices deserve to be heard, valued and respected.

We are proud to create an inclusive and neurodiversity-affirming space where everyone can feel safe to express themselves.

Whether thats through words, actions, AAC, play, or connection.
