He has a background in fitness and health, both mental and physical that he includes into his treatments if he believes it will help better the client during or after each massage treatment. He provides sports massage, relaxation, deep tissue, soft tissue release, TMJ and rehabilitation massage treatments in his clinic space at 6464 Lanark Rd, Sooke. Richard’s journey into massage therapy started when working as an underwriter. A sports injury caused him to lose feeling in his arm. It was through massage that he was able to get his feeling back and help with his arm’s mobility. After seeing this he looked further into other benefits massage therapy can provide. Enjoying the more hands-on approach to health and recovery, as well as the ability to use his knowledge of fitness and diet he decided to leave his previous career and dive head first into massage therapy. From working in an office for many years he understands how desk work can greatly affect back pain and discomfort and lead to postural issues that you can’t quite correct no matter what you try. Richard likes to provides additional stretches for any tighter areas so that the benefits from the massage can continue to last weeks or months into the future. He graduated from Western College of Remedial Massage Therapy in 2017 in the top of his class where he also obtained an additional certificate in Sports Massage which helps him provide sports related recovery and injury treatments..
