Still Here Recovery Coaching

Still Here Recovery Coaching We are Recovery Coaches and Recovery Coach Trainers.

01/22/2026

We’re home from northwest BC and the Northwest Territories—and this time in the North left an indelible imprint on us.

We experienced breathtaking land, warm hospitality, and honest conversations about the challenges communities are facing. We were deeply moved by the strength of culture and language, the love for relatives living with addiction, and the commitment of leadership to support their people with care and integrity.

We’re grateful for the welcome, the teachings, and the time shared.

Recovery is staying in the game.

Ten games. That’s a tough losing streak, but it’s a powerful reminder of a lesson we learn early in recovery: the scoreboard doesn’t always reflect the work being put in.

We know what it’s like to put in the effort and wonder when the tide will turn. We know the feeling of wavering confidence and outside noise. But we also know that a “losing streak” isn’t a permanent state; it’s just the chapter before the comeback.

Still Here is proud to stand with the recovery community and the Vancouver Canucks on January 27th at Rogers Arena.

We aren’t just there for a game. We’re there to celebrate resilience, honour the quiet work of showing up, and remind everyone that things get better if you stay in the game.

Join us as the Canucks face the San Jose Sharks. Let’s celebrate the strength it takes to keep going, on and off the ice.

The construction industry has the highest su***de rate of all industries in Canada:

53.2 su***des per 100,000 workers—five times higher than all other construction-related fatalities combined.

83% of workers report experiencing mental health struggles.

Substance abuse rates in the trades are nearly double the national average.

A culture of “toughing it out” prevents workers from seeking help.

The Forge seeks to change this because they recognize:

Workers trust their fellow tradespeople.

Peer support mirrors the apprenticeship model—learning from those with experience.

Lived experience creates stronger connections and real recovery opportunities.

Come support this event on January 30-February 01st in Langford, BC on Vancouver Island. We’ll see you there!

More people are drinking less alcohol—and sometimes, their friends take that personally. People who have ditched booze describe being hammered with questions about why they’re staying sober, treated like they’re sucking all the fun out of the room, or, if they’re women, inevitably asked if they’re pregnant.

Being prepared with a handful of comebacks when you’re encouraged to drink—or asked why you’re abstaining—can help you stick to your goals and diffuse any tension.

Many thanks to Angela Haupt for the inspiration for this post. So worth revisiting for the holiday season. Original post here. https://time.com/7266958/what-to-say-not-drinking-alcohol/

Two provinces, two rooms, and so many moments of courage.

What we witnessed these past two weeks was more than skill building, it was people choosing to show up differently for their communities. Leaning into discomfort. Practising presence. Honouring autonomy.

We are humbled and inspired by every future Recovery Coach who stepped into these spaces with us.

Thank you for being part of this growing movement.

YES!! We’re looking forward to seeing all you tomorrow in celebration and support of recovery!

Loverboy was the first I ever went to so many years ago. My sister was the right number caller into the local radio station and won two tickets she then gifted me for my birthday.

I’m so grateful for my family and my recovery family. Looking forward to seeing you all there!Come on by our booth for a five minute and a stress ball!
