Building History:

The Central Peace Health Center was first envisioned during the summer of 2014 when the five municipalities – Town of Spirit River, MD of Spirit River, Village of Rycroft, Birch Hills County and Saddle Hills County – got together in order to provide increased medical and dental services and increased certainty about the long term availability of those services in the Central Peace River area. The Center (building and property) is owned by the five member municipalities of the G5 and leased to a non-profit Part 9 Company which will operate the building and lease space to the medical practitioners at arms-length from the municipalities. The five municipalities which funded the construction of the Central Peace Health Center held a series of open houses for community members and residents in order to provide information and answer questions from the public. The open houses were held in Saddle Hills County, Eaglesham, and Spirit River. Construction on the building began in the spring of 2016 and completion is expected in the summer of 2017. The building is being built with a view to serving the medical and healthcare needs of the five municipalities for up to 50 years.

Our Story

The Central Peace Health Center is the result of the cooperation and vision of the G5 Municipalities of the Central Peace region of Alberta. The Central Peace Health Center was first envisioned during the summer of 2014 when the five municipalities – Town of Spirit River, MD of Spirit River 133, Village of Rycroft, Birch Hills County and Saddle Hills County – got together in order to provide increased medical and dental services and increased certainty about the long term availability of those services in the Central Peace River area. The Center (building and property) is owned by the five member municipalities of the G5 and leased to a non-profit Part 9 Company which operates the building and lease space to the medical practitioners at arms-length from the municipalities. Construction on the building began in the spring of 2016 and was completed in the summer of 2017. The building exists with a view to serving the medical and healthcare needs of the five municipalities for up to 50 years.
