Sabotage your confidence before you even try
Kill your creativity faster than you can say 'but what if...'
Provide constant commentary on why you're not good enough
Offer unsolicited opinions about every life choice you've ever made

Mercury retrograde lasts 3 weeks. Your inner critic? That overachiever has been working overtime for YEARS without a single vacation day.

Here's the plot twist: You can't sage away your inner critic (trust me, I've tried).

But you CAN:
✨ Notice when it's running the show
✨ Thank it for its 'concern' and kindly tell it to take several seats
✨ Practice talking to yourself like you would your best friend
✨ Remember that thoughts aren't facts, they're just... thoughts

This is my 'morning meditation' spot ☀️

I get the morning sun streaming through my BIG window and I just... sit. Allowing my mind to flood with whatever thoughts need to be witnessed.

WAIT. WHAT?! But Sam, I thought meditation was about clearing the mind?

Plot twist: This processing IS clearing my mind. It's actually allowing the thoughts, ideas, and whatever the heck else needs to be witnessed to come through so I can let it go or take action on it.

I keep my journal on my lap and when I'm inspired to write something down, I do. This is my daily ritual - sometimes it's 5 minutes, sometimes it's 55 minutes, but it happens every single day to keep my mind from becoming a squirrel in there trying to claw its way out 🐿️

Here's the thing about meditation: there's no 'wrong' way to do it. Your nervous system just needs consistent moments of pause, however that looks for you.
