The first Building Connections Teen Group for Spring 2026 is this Friday!

These teen nights are for youth ages 13 - 21, who have a disability, neurodiversity, special health, or developmental concern.

Join us on the third Friday of each month at the Family Connection Centre for activities, games, and special events that will help build confidence, social skills and lasting connections. 👭👬
Pre-registration is required for each individual session through apfa.ca

Join our team and make a meaningful difference in someone’s life! We’re looking for fun, energetic, and experienced individuals to support persons with disabilities in a positive and engaging environment.

📍4 Available Positions:

1.🕘 Alternate Weekend Position
• 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM

2.🧩 Respite Worker
• 2 evenings/week: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
• Alternate weekends:
• Saturday: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
• Sunday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

3.🌙 Evening Shifts (Mon–Thurs)
• 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM

4.📅 Contract Position (Until Sept 1)
• Monday – Friday
• Daytime hours (approx. 45 hours/week)

💡 What We’re Looking For:
• Experience in disability support or related field
• Positive, energetic, and compassionate attitude
• Reliable and committed to making a difference

🐣🍀 Teen Group Recap Night! 🍀🐣

We had such a fun and energetic evening at our recent Teen Group, celebrating both Easter and St. Patrick’s Day!

Our scavenger hunt had everyone exploring and working together to find all the hidden goodies 🍬🍀 — the teamwork and excitement were amazing to see!

We also brought the energy with some Minute to Win It games, where participants challenged themselves with quick, silly, and skill-based activities. There were lots of laughs, cheering, and a little friendly competition among so many new faces! 🎉

It was great to see everyone engaged, supporting each other, and having so much fun together. Nights like these are what it’s all about!

🌟 Volunteer Opportunity – Teen Assistant/Helper! 🌟

We’re looking for an older teen to join us as a volunteer assistant/helper for our Building Connections Teen Group for children with developmental disabilities!

🗓 When: Every 3rd Friday of the month
📍 Where: Stony Plain
💖 Who: Fun, kind, and responsible teens who want to give back to their community

As a volunteer, you’ll help run activities and support the group, making sure everyone has a great time. In past weeks, our teens have enjoyed dance nights, slime-making, pumpkin carving, and more!

Come help us create a safe, fun, and inclusive space where friendships and creativity can grow.

💃🎉 What a night to remember at the Building Connections Teen Group! Our latest event was a dance full of laughter, fun games, pictures, awesome dance moves, and plenty of friendship building.

It was amazing to see everyone come together, try new moves, and just enjoy being in a supportive, inclusive space. Moments like these remind us why our group exists – to connect, have fun, and create memories together! 🕺✨

What a great night at the Building Connections teen group! We got creative making slime (messy in the best way 😄) and put together vision boards/collages to kick off the new year with goals, dreams, and positive vibes. So awesome to see everyone’s creativity and support for each other!

Our last teen group event was full of festive cheer! The teens had a great time building gingerbread houses, sipping on hot chocolate, and playing some holiday bingo 🎅🍫🏠

✨ Thank you for an incredible International Day of Persons with Disabilities! ✨

Yesterday we celebrated our 4th Annual IDPD Event at the Tri Leisure Centre, and it was an amazing success! The energy, community spirit, and support were truly inspiring.

From the vendor market and fashion show to the family activities, and the Para-Olympic sledge hockey game — every part of the day showcased inclusion, empowerment, and the strength of our community.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, participated, or supported the event. Your presence helps make our community more accessible, connected, and inclusive for all. 💙

We can’t wait to build on this momentum and continue celebrating the abilities and contributions of people with disabilities every day.
