If you’ve dove head first into health and wellness- especially online… you know what I’m talking about with all the fear mongering. Sometimes it can feel like everything is bad for you these days.

And trust me, I’m all for awareness. There’s so much 💩 in the food system it’s crazy.

Artificial food dyes, flavourings, plastics, heavy metals, glyphosate. The list goes on. I’m very happy that things are changing and more awareness is coming into play!

FOCUSING ON QUALITY FOOD FOR DAILY USE IS SOMETHING I’M VERY PASSIONATE ABOUT!

And honestly as a nutritionist I always recommend label reading, quality, toxic load. The whole works.

But man did it feel good to have this reflection that artificial food dyes didn’t even cross my consciousness while buying that cake. I was more concerned about the gooey fudge and cookie crumble.

But I think that’s from going so far the other way that I was stressing over every little ingredient…. That’s not healthy either.

The lesson-

I always have quality in mind for everyday use.

For once in a while occasions like a nostalgic Dairy Queen cake- I really couldn’t give a s**t.

Ps- yes we did scrape off the black icing because the stain power was next level 😆😆😂

Knowledge is power.

And when I was exhausted with zero stress resiliency and total overwhelm of what to do next (because I was doing “all the things”) this is the test that put everything into perspective for me.

Of course I had a nutrition background, but as I was sitting in the clients seat- hearing my results from my practitioner. I honestly felt whole body chills. Because I’ll say it - validation. It was everything to me at the time, and I knew I wanted to be able to offer this kind of support to others!

It gave me a deeper appreciation for my body and how it works so hard to keep me going. I was actually able to find compassion for myself instead of trying to biohack my way into more energy.

Now of course this is my personal experience. Take what you will.

In my practice I use HTMA as a piece of the puzzle, it’s not the WHOLE puzzle.

It’s a tool- a very underrated one. An understanding if you will.

Nervous system is everrrrrything. And so worth protecting.

Comment if you agree 💞

Feeling off, drained, or just not yourself lately?

Your body leaves clues. HTMA looks at mineral patterns over time, helping us see how stress, energy, and daily life are impacting your body.

It’s not the be all, end all. But it sure adds context, uncovers patterns, and allows us to support your body where it needs it the most. 💕

I have a seen dozens of AI generated wellness accounts that look like credible podcast conversations- come across my feed lately and it’s a little SPOOKY guys.

It’s important we take all online advice with a grain of salt and remember we all have unique needs. ❤️

The collective energy around this time of year is very charged. ⚡️

There are a hundred and one reasons why the holidays can be dysregulating for any given person. All emotions — joy, sadness, excitement, anxiety, nostalgia, even frustration — are felt during this season.

But what I find truly beautiful is that the extremes can coexist. 🙏

You can feel happiness and sadness at the same time, gratitude and overwhelm, love and irritation — all of it is part of being human.

It also tends to be the time of year where we feel less than ideal: unwanted GI symptoms, brain fog, feeling like you need a million years of sleep. 😴

A lot of people write off the holidays and wait until New Year’s to start fresh. But there’s actually quite a bit we can do during: from making sure you actually eat a vegetable that day, to sneaking off for a quick breath in the closet during family time.

The ability to feel two different things at the same time is wild — it’s messy, it’s human, and it’s okay.

I hope everyone enjoys this season and creates memories, wherever you are in your life story.

Love y’all,
Katelyn

If I could write a letter to myself about two years ago I would say this.

Dear me-

Take a breath. Stop treating your body like a science experiment. Stop trying to control every outcome.

Stop over analyzing every rash, bloated belly and the shape of my morning poo. Lol.

It’s okay if you didn’t drink lemon water this morning, hit your fibre goals or get your 10 K steps in for the day.

Lean into those days you just want to crawl in bed. Try reframing why am I never good enough to my body is pushing rest- listen.

So much of this work comes from riding the wave. That some days you’ll go up and some days down. It’s an ebb and flow, make it beautiful!

Treat those stubborn symptoms as messengers- but don’t hate them.

Being intuitive is our super power- don’t lose it.

And lastly, I hope you can find kindness for yourself today because the years pass by and we learn MUCH more than we ever expected. 💕

Bloated again? 🤰💨

Peppermint tea + a castor oil pack are my go to temporary support, but long-term relief comes from supporting your gut with whole, mineral-rich foods. 💛

DM me “MINERALS” if you want to know more about HTMA testing and how it can help.
