It’s like clockwork, isn’t it? The transition between fall and winter and suddenly everyone in your house is sniffling, coughing, or fighting something.

You’ve probably blamed it on “holiday germs” or “cold weather,” but there’s more to the story.

Here’s what’s happening: Your family’s nervous system is being overwhelmed by the perfect storm of winter stressors. Holiday activities, schedule changes, less sunlight, temperature fluctuations, sugar overload, travel plans, and increased indoor time create a cascade of stress on your nervous systems.

When your nervous system is under stress, your body’s ability to adapt and function optimally is compromised. Your body can’t regulate properly when it’s stuck in a chronic stress state from spinal tension and nervous system interference.

The cycle looks like this:
Seasonal stressors → Nervous system overwhelm → Body struggling to adapt → Family gets sick → More stress → Repeat

Here’s what helps: Instead of only focusing on immune-boosting supplements (though those can support), address what’s happening at the root level by supporting your family’s nervous systems through gentle chiropractic care.

When your nervous system is clear and functioning well, your body can adapt to stress more effectively and function the way it’s designed to.

Many parents have been sharing that this is their first December in years without the usual round of family illnesses.

The third trimester can feel overwhelming. Your body is changing daily, sleep may feel impossible, and birth feels both exciting and intimidating.

But here’s what I want you to remember: your body knows exactly how to grow your baby and bring them earthside safely.

Every curve of your spine, every hormone released, every practice contraction is part of your body’s birth blueprint.

When your nervous system is clear and connected, everything flows more naturally:
✨ Your pelvis can open optimally
✨ Your baby can find their best position
✨ Your body’s natural pain relief system activates
✨ Your birth can unfold the way it’s meant to

This isn’t about having a “perfect” birth. It’s about trusting your body’s intelligence and giving it the support it needs to do what it was designed to do.

Whether this is your first baby or your fifth, your body deserves to feel strong, supported, and ready.

When we support your nervous system during pregnancy, we’re supporting your body’s ability to birth with power and confidence.

Your body is designed for this.

I see a lot of moms and kids in practice, but let’s talk about something that often gets overlooked: dad’s nervous system health.

Men need this support just as much. Your nervous system health matters, not just for you, but for your entire family.

Here’s what I see: men typically internalize stress differently than women, often leading to:

🔥 Different physical tension patterns stored in the spine
⚡ Fight-or-flight mode that becomes your new normal
🧠 Nervous system stuck in overdrive that can lead to more shut down
💔 Higher rates of heart disease, high blood pressure and burnout

Your spine is the highway for all stress signals. When there’s interference in the spine from physical, chemical, or emotional stress, your nervous system can’t properly regulate your stress response.

The result? You’re stuck in survival mode, even when you’re trying to relax.

Chiropractic care helps reset your nervous system’s ability to adapt to stress naturally. Instead of feeling wired and tired, you get clear, calm nervous system function that helps you show up as the man, father, and partner you want to be.

Taking care of your nervous system isn’t just about you. Your family needs you operating at your best, and that starts with a nervous system that can handle what life throws at you.

Snoring isn’t just a sleep annoyance. It’s often a sign that your nervous system isn’t coordinating breathing the way it should be.

You’ve maybe heard a bit about tongue position and snoring lately in the wellness world. But I like to take it one step deeper: what’s controlling the tone, strength, and posture of your tongue? It’s your nervous system.

When your upper cervical spine (the top of your neck) is stressed/misaligned, it affects the nerves that control your airway muscles, tongue position, and breathing patterns. Your nervous system struggles to properly coordinate the muscles needed for clear, quiet breathing during sleep.

Here’s what’s happening:
🧠 Nerve interference disrupts the coordination of airway muscles
😴 Your airways become more likely to collapse during sleep
⚡ Breathing patterns can’t be regulated optimally
💤 Poor sleep quality prevents your nervous system from recovering the way it should

Chronic snoring often indicates your nervous system is stuck in a stress state, even during sleep. This means decreased recovery, disrupted hormone production, and your body never fully entering the restorative sleep phases it needs to function well.

When your nervous system can properly coordinate breathing, everything improves. Many of our patients notice significant changes in their sleep quality after neurologically focused upper cervical adjustments.

And yes, kids and babies can snore too. If your little one is snoring (even occasionally), their nervous system is working harder than it should be during sleep. This isn’t something to wait and see about. When kids’ nervous systems can’t coordinate breathing properly during sleep, it affects everything from growth and development to behavior and learning. The earlier we address nervous system stress in kids, the better foundation we’re setting for their entire life.

Your snoring might be your body’s way of asking for nervous system support.

You know those sleepless nights or reflux struggles? They’re incredibly common, but that doesn’t mean they’re normal or how things have to be.

Your baby’s nervous system is designed to regulate everything - sleep cycles, digestion, feeding coordination. It’s pretty amazing. But sometimes, even after a beautiful birth, that system gets a little overwhelmed from the journey earthside.

Think about it - your baby just navigated a pretty big transition. Their little body is working hard to adapt to life outside the womb, and sometimes tension builds up, especially around the neck and upper spine. When that happens, the vagus nerve (which helps control digestion) and the areas that support feeding and sleep can get a bit compressed.

If your mama instincts are telling you something’s off? Trust that.

Nervous system focused chiropractic care is very gentle. The pressure is as light as checking a tomato for ripeness - helps release that tension so your baby’s nervous system can do what it was designed to do: regulate, coordinate, and thrive.

Your baby deserves peaceful sleep and comfortable feeding. Early support can make all the difference for your whole family.

Your period pain, mood swings, or irregular cycles? They’re not just something you have to accept as “normal.”

Your menstrual cycle is actually one of the most honest indicators of your nervous system health. When your body is in a state of ease and your nervous system is functioning optimally, it can regulate hormones more effectively, which can lead to easier periods and better overall health.

Your nervous system controls:
🧠 Hormone production and regulation
💫 Pain perception and management
🔄 Your stress response
✨ Sleep cycles that support hormone balance

Swipe to discover what your period symptoms might be telling you about your nervous system health, and how intentional chiropractic care can support your monthly cycle.

Many of the women in my practice share that after consistent nervous system care, their periods become more manageable, their energy improves, and they feel more like themselves throughout their entire cycle.

You don’t have to dread your period every month. When your nervous system is clear and connected, your body can do what it’s designed to do naturally. ❤️

Let’s be real - if you’re catching every cold that goes around, dealing with constant sinus infections, or feeling run down all winter, that’s not just “bad luck.”

That’s your body telling you it’s overwhelmed.

Here’s what’s actually happening in winter: ✗ Less sunlight = lower energy
✗ More time indoors = increased exposure to stress
✗ Holiday demands = nervous system overload
✗ Poor sleep & nutrition = body running on empty
✗ Accumulated stress = your body stuck in survival mode

Your body is incredibly resilient when it’s balanced. But when your nervous system is stuck in stress mode (sympathetic dominance), your body prioritizes survival over thriving. It can’t rest, repair, or adapt the way it’s designed to.

This is where nervous system care comes in.

When your nervous system is balanced and functioning optimally, your body can shift into rest and repair mode more easily. It can adapt to stressors, recover faster, and maintain the resilience you need to feel your best - especially during demanding seasons.

Constantly feeling run down? Getting every bug that comes through? Exhausted all winter long?

That’s not normal. That’s not “just how winter is.”

That’s your nervous system asking for support.

You weren’t designed to barely survive winter. Your body is intelligent and resilient when it’s given what it needs.

Chiropractic care helps restore balance to your nervous system so your body can do what it does best - adapt, recover, and thrive. 💙

Here’s something most people don’t realize: your body already has everything it needs to heal itself. ✨

Your body knows how to regulate your heartbeat, digest your last meal, fight off infections, repair tissues, balance hormones. All of this happens automatically, without you having to think about it.

The problem? Modern life creates interference in the system that controls it all: your nervous system.

Think about it. When you cut your finger, you don’t have to tell your body to heal it. When you eat, you don’t consciously direct digestion. When you’re exposed to a virus, your immune system kicks in automatically.

This intelligence is running constantly through your nervous system, coordinating billions of messages to keep you functioning at your best. 🧠

Neurologically-focused chiropractic isn’t about adding anything to your body or masking symptoms. We remove interference so your nervous system can communicate clearly.

When that happens? When your body’s systems can actually talk to each other without static on the line? That’s when families start noticing things shift. Sleep patterns improve. Stress responses calm down. Energy increases. Bodies adapt better to whatever life throws at them.

For over 129 years, families have been choosing this approach because it works WITH your body’s design, not against it.

No side effects. No dependencies. Just your body doing what it was meant to do when nothing’s getting in the way. 💫

Curious what your nervous system is capable of when it’s functioning without interference?

If you’ve been on a fertility journey tracking ovulation, monitoring hormone levels, and doing everything “right” but still struggling to conceive, this one’s for you.

Your nervous system is the master controller of everything, not just your hormones and fertility. Yet so many women trying to conceive focus only on optimizing their hormones.

Here’s what the science shows: Every hormone release, every ovulation cycle, every signal that tells your body “it’s safe to create life” starts with clear communication between your brain and your reproductive organs.

Chronic stress keeps your nervous system stuck in survival mode, actively suppressing the reproductive hormones you need. Your body literally cannot prioritize baby-making when your nervous system is constantly signaling danger.

This is why I focus on nervous system optimization in my practice.

When we address the root cause (nervous system function) rather than just symptoms, bodies can do incredible things.

Swipe to discover:
💫 How your nervous system controls fertility
🧠 The stress-fertility connection nobody talks about
🌱 Why your body might not feel “safe” to conceive
✨ What I’m seeing in practice with nervous system care

Your body KNOWS how to create life. Sometimes it just needs the right nervous system support to feel safe enough to try.

Our little ones are always watching. Not just what we say, but what we do. The habits we practice, how we spend our time and the way we treat our bodies.

This weekend we had a fun family workout and Nora loved copying us. She didn’t want to just watch, she wanted in on the fun. 🏋️‍♀️

Including them in the everyday stuff, even when they can’t do it “right” or they’re too little, that’s where the real learning happens. 💫

She’s not just playing around with a barbell. She’s learning that movement is fun, that her body is strong and that she’s capable. She’s building confidence and watching us prioritize our health too.

These small, sweaty moments? They’re building her foundation. The habits, the confidence, the sense of belonging, it all comes from what we show them now. 🫶

My vision for Running Wild Chiropractic is to build something special. A space that feels warm and welcoming, where families come for hope and walk away with real change. 💫

This is what neurologically-focused care looks like when it’s done right. Every adjustment, every scan, every visit is about supporting your family’s nervous system so you can actually thrive.

That’s the vision. That’s what we’re creating together. 🌿
