Newfoundland and Labrador (NL) Health Services advises the public of the following service changes due to adverse weather today (Wednesday, February 18, 2026) for the Eastern Zones:
โข All Eastern-Urban community health sites and administrative buildings that do not provide a 24-hour service will be closed for the day, with the exception of the dialysis treatment centre located at Mount Pearl Square.
โข Eastern-Rural community health sites and administrative buildings (with the exception of sites on the Burin Peninsula and dialysis services at Coish Place) that do not provide 24-hour service will be closed for the day. Services for sites that have been closed are moved to virtual.
โข Urgent care clinics/centres (St. Johnโs and Whitbourne) are closed for the day. The Ambulatory Health Hub located at 28 Stavanger Drive in St. Johnโs is also closed for the day.
โข Blood collection appointments at the Waterford Hospital are cancelled for the day.
โข In-person Doorways services will be unavailable (with the exception of services on the Burin Peninsula); virtual services will proceed. Please visit https://mha.easternhealth.ca/doorways/ to find a list of contact information.
Eastern-Urban and Eastern-Rural zone hospitals, the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre, long-term care facilities, and other sites with 24-hour operations will remain open, and emergency services continue to be available. medical advice.
NL Health Services encourages patients and clients travelling long distances to check with their health-care providerโs office to confirm that their appointment is going ahead, as delays may occur.
