Week Two is in the books — and what a week it’s been! 👟
The team has been absolutely crushing it, logging kilometres and racking up an incredible 1.7 million+ steps collectively. That’s not just movement — that’s momentum. The commitment and consistency everyone is showing speaks volumes about the heart of this group.

We’ve also received important confirmation from TVF, should we be unable to roster the full minimum team of 11, all officially registered members will still be supported and sent as a smaller contingent. That reassurance reflects the belief in our team and the mission we’re representing.

On the international front, we had a fantastic breakthrough — a member who had been on the waiting list is now officially registered for the Nijmegen 4 Days March. That brings us to four team members (including a Dutch Marine liaison member) advancing to this incredible global event. Momentum continues to build!

Training efforts remain strong across the board. The team continues to smash Challenge Days, and it’s inspiring to see members gathering to walk and train together.

Looking ahead to this week:

· Each TVF team member will log 40+ km in training.

Wednesday’s Challenge Day is set at 12.5 km.
Many are already exceeding the minimum daily targets, and the steady stream of encouragement and congratulatory messages flying back and forth has been incredibly motivating. That kind of peer support is what transforms a group into a team.

The kilometres matter. The preparation matters. But what stands out most is the spirit — the way everyone is lifting each other up and pushing forward together.

UPDATE: Public transportation will not be operating in the city of St. John's for the remainder of today. The city has advised motorists to stay off the roads as well. Our office will remain closed for today, Monday, February 23. We will provide an update in the morning.

EARLIER: We have just been made aware that public transit in the city of St. John's will not be operational tomorrow as the city attempts to make our roads safe to travel on once again, and to prepare for additional weather events predicted for this week. Unfortunately, this means that we are facing yet another day of disruption at our office. We are as frustrated as we are sure everyone is by these unprecedented winter storms and the amount of snowfall we have received as a result.

Our aim is to open in the afternoon tomorrow, but our bowling event will be postponed once again.
Please check back for an update between noon and 1230 hrs tomorrow.

Hi everyone!

This week we will be hosting TWO Brunches With Buddies. There will be our regularly scheduled Tuesday Brunch, and a BONUS BRUNCH on Wednesday, February 25th from 1000-1200 hrs.
Our Wednesday brunch will be catered by Manna Bakery, and hosted by our friends from Spectrum Therapeutics, who will also be joining us at the office that day.
We hope to see you there!

🟩 The Veteran Farmer is proud to be participating in the 2026 Nijmegen 4 Day March this July 21st-24th! 👟👟

We’re excited to share our Week 1 update from Team TVFNM26 Nijmegen!

On the training front, the team had a fantastic first week! Although many members are training independently due to geography and scheduling, we were thrilled to see several teammates come together for the first challenge day — completing 7.5 km side by side. Building connection and camaraderie is one of the key goals of this journey, and it’s already happening!

Team morale remains high. Members are actively logging their progress in the Team StepUp App, allowing everyone to see the collective effort, dedication, and growth across the team. It’s incredibly motivating to witness the commitment building week by week.

🌍 What is the Nijmegen 4 Day March?

Held since 1909, the Nijmegen March started as a military training exercise and has grown into a legendary international event. Every year, 40,000+ walkers from over 70 countries take on 30km, 40km, or 50km a day for four days straight, moving through beautiful towns, countryside, and historic routes.

🎉 What makes it special?

The atmosphere is unmatched—crowds cheering, music playing, flowers flying, and the unforgettable "Via Gladiola" finish. Complete the march and you earn the "Vierdaagsekruis" medal, a symbol of grit, perseverance, and team spirit.
