Over 1,000,000 lbs, repurposed, not wasted.

Last year, EcoAxis worked alongside partners in the aquaculture industry to recover and repurpose more than 1 million pounds of HDPE.

This material, once difficult to manage at scale, is now being redirected into durable infrastructure solutions through a more efficient, circular approach.

Through our Circular Materials Program, we:

Recover HDPE materials at industrial scale
Process them into reusable material streams
Convert them into high-performance infrastructure products

The result:
✔ Reduced landfill reliance
✔ Lower transportation emissions through optimized logistics
✔ Practical, scalable circularity in a critical Canadian industry

This is what progress looks like, industries stepping forward, adopting better systems, and working together to solve complex challenges.

We’re proud to support that transition.

As we head into spring, our operations across Atlantic Canada are ramping back up.

If you’re managing large-scale HDPE materials, we’d welcome the conversation.

Let’s turn materials into opportunity.

This work builds on the momentum from winning the Canada-wide Ocean Startup Project Cohort 2022, reinforcing our commitment to advancing sustainable solutions in marine industries.

REMOTE NORTHERN LOCATIONS NEED SMARTER HARD SURFACING

In many remote and isolated northern Canadian locations, asphalt and concrete are not always the best answer.

Short construction seasons. High mobilization costs. Limited access to specialized trades. Harsh freeze-thaw cycles. Heavy equipment traffic.

It all adds up fast.

At EcoAxis, we provide modular HDPE and timber matting systems that create durable hard-surface solutions for the kinds of environments where conventional methods become difficult, expensive, or unreliable.

From transportation hubs needing to reduce dust contamination around warehouse space, to heavy equipment maintenance areas requiring a stable working surface for loaders, excavators, and forklifts, our systems are built for real northern operating conditions.

Why it works:

fast and efficient to ship

quick to install

resilient in cold climates

handles heavy industrial traffic

no potholes, no crack filling, no constant patching

This is not a temporary compromise.
It is a smarter way to build surface performance in the North.

EcoAxis
Built for remote operations.
Built for northern conditions.

Spring Thaw in Newfoundland… She’s Not for the Faint of Heart.

That time of year when frost leaves the ground and even solid sites turn into soup.

One minute you’re rolling.
Next minute you’re buried to the axles.

Every spring we see it, machines stuck, projects delayed, budgets bleeding.

The difference? Planning early.

Access mats during thaw season aren’t a luxury, they’re protection for equipment, schedules, and your bottom line.

At EcoAxis, we maintain large matting inventories centrally located in Newfoundland, available for rental or purchase. Our stock includes temporary bridges, timber and HDPE composite matting systems, ranging from light-duty pedestrian access to ultra heavy-duty mats capable of supporting cranes and the heaviest equipment.

From remote exploration sites to large industrial projects, we also have the equipment and crews to transport and install mats when required, making deployment simple anywhere in the province.

Beyond Newfoundland, EcoAxis has matting stockpiles and partner networks across Canada and into the United States, allowing us to support projects wherever they happen.

If you’re waiting until the machine is stuck, you’re already behind.

Get out early. Mat it right. Keep moving.

International Women’s Day

Some of the strongest workers and leaders in today’s industries are women.

Across sectors that were historically male-dominated, women are stepping forward and proving themselves every day. Not just through capability and resilience, but through leadership styles that tend to be highly professional, collaborative, and focused on the work rather than ego.

Those qualities build stronger teams, better organizations, and healthier industries.

At EcoAxis, we believe real progress happens when talented people with different perspectives come together to build something better.

Today we recognize and celebrate the women whose strength, intelligence, and leadership continue to move our communities and industries forward.

Happy International Women’s Day.

For the past four years, we’ve supported expeditions to one of the most remote and weather-exposed areas of Newfoundland, high winds, extreme cold, and no natural shelter.

Yesterday, working alongside Memorial University and TIGHAR, our team transported crews and equipment across the barrens and ice in support of the ongoing search for the historic Whitebird aircraft.

The Whitebird disappeared in 1927 during an attempted transatlantic flight from Maine to Rome, aiming to be one of the first non-stop crossings from North America to Europe. Nearly a century later, the search continues in Newfoundland’s interior, where evidence suggests the aircraft may have come down.

On site, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) was deployed on a sled system to complete a structured grid scan of the pond bottom beneath the ice.

Proud to support a project that could have meaningful impact on aviation history.

If you have a project in a remote location anywhere in the province, we can get you there, safely and efficiently.

Churchill Park Music Festival — Reliable Access Since Year One

Since the inaugural year of the Churchill Park Music Festival in St. John's, EcoAxis has provided ground access and protection support to keep the event moving — regardless of field conditions.

Soft ground and heavy truck traffic can quickly create mud, turf damage, and operational delays. Our team installs heavy-duty temporary access roads to support equipment and vehicle movement in saturated areas, ensuring stable, predictable performance throughout build-out and teardown.

We also deploy light-duty matting systems to create wheelchair-accessible pathways and protect turf beneath equipment positioned across the field.

✔ Reliable equipment access
✔ Protected playing surfaces
✔ Inclusive pedestrian routes
✔ Clean removal post-event

Long-term support. Proven performance. Large inventories readily available for deployment in NL.

When heavy lift operations are on the line, ground performance matters. On Newfoundland’s East Coast, EcoAxis supported a Canadian Coast Guard operation requiring a 450-ton crane to safely execute a 115-ton lift in a marine environment where ground bearing capacity was a critical risk factor.

EcoAxis deployed Isotrack X Mats, selected for this project due to their independently tested compressive performance, proven load distribution characteristics, and durability under cyclic and dynamic loading. Laboratory and field testing has demonstrated their ability to manage extreme pressures, maintain structural integrity, and deliver reliable traction in challenging ground conditions, without cracking, breaking, or connection failure.

✔️ Ground pressures managed within engineered limits
✔️ Stable crane positioning throughout the lift
✔️ Predictable performance under sustained load

When there is no margin for error, engineered ground support makes the difference.

West Coast of Newfoundland – Transmission Line Access

We recently helped crews safely access a 60-year-old transmission line located deep in bog and wetland terrain on Newfoundland’s west coast, an area where traditional access simply isn’t possible.

By installing a combination of Isotrack X composite mats and 3-ply timber access mats, we created a stable access corridor that supported heavy equipment while protecting sensitive ground.

The result:
✔️ No environmental damage
✔️ No safety incidents
✔️ No delays to line crews
✔️ Reduced wildfire risk

This project is a great example of how the right access solution can protect the environment while keeping critical infrastructure moving.

When bigger machines don’t work, smarter solutions do.

This past summer, EcoAxis was called to a remote site on Newfoundland’s Northern Peninsula where our client's critical equipment was stranded deep in a bog with one track completely off. Multiple recovery attempts had already failed.

Our team engineered a different approach:

✔️ Stabilized the machine using its own outriggers

✔️ Deployed EcoAxis timber mats as outrigger pads

✔️ Winched our Eco X mats underneath the lifted equipment

✔️ Reinstalled the track on-site

✔️ Drove the equipment out under its own power on a temporary access path made with our mats.

No additional heavy equipment.

Minimal environmental impact.

Problem solved.

This is what remote access and recovery expertise looks like.
