The RNC has implemented a new criminal record check system that simplifies the application process and reduces wait times.
Applications can be submitted online in just a few short minutes. The new service allows users to create a profile, track the status of their application, and once complete, provides checks for download with two-factor authentication to share with requesting agencies directly. The new process has significantly reduced processing times because of the shift from traditional mail.
Applicants may still be required to attend in person for fingerprints as part of a vulnerable sector check and will be advised as part of the application process.
The online application service is available 24 hours a day from anywhere in Canada, providing a convenient and accessible option to request a record check. There are still traditional mail and drop-off options for those who cannot apply online.
Those who have outstanding applications need not re-apply.
