- 4-2-6 Breathing. Longer exhales soothe the nervous system.
- Splash cold water or take a brisk, cold shower.
- Step outside for deep breaths.
- Suck on a sour candy or lemon wedge.
- Shake it out or have a quick dance break.
- Feel your body connect to the floor or seat.
- Try a butterfly hug (alternate tapping left and right).

We’re so pleased to announce that we have added a Nurse Practitioner to our The Calm Place community.🧑🏼‍⚕️

With over 25 years of experience in mental health and addictions, Nancy Dove has practiced across diverse settings—from St. John’s to Hawaii—supporting children, adolescents, adults, and older adults in both community-based and inpatient acute care. She completed her Master of Nursing: Nurse Practitioner in January 2024 and has been working as a Primary Care Provider in community clinics in the St. John’s area.

Nancy brings a non-judgmental, trauma-informed, inclusive, and collaborative approach to care, partnering closely with clients to support their individual health needs. At The Calm Place, she offers episodic care for clients without a Primary Care Practitioner, including medication management for mental health concerns and follow-up care after an ADHD diagnosis, as part of our integrated model of support.
