⚡️MEET THE STAFF⚡️

Emma Tilley - Office Administrator

Emma grew up in Conception Bay South, where she quickly developed a love for sports. Throughout school, Emma participated in many different team sports including soccer, hockey and volleyball.

Volleyball became Emma’s main focus during High School, where she played with numerous teams including those from her school, province, and local clubs which led her to represent her province in national-level tournaments.

Emma’s love for the sport inspired her to pursue refereeing, which has given her the opportunity to officiate games in Provincial and National level tournaments. Most recently, Emma was involved at the 2025 Canada Summer Games here in St. Johns, where she volunteered as a line judge for both the indoor and beach volleyball competitions.

In her spare time, Emma enjoys spending time with close friends and family, going on hikes, paddleboarding and camping!

Crystal Wakley-Mews - Clinic Manager

Crystal holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from Memorial University of Newfoundland and boasts over a decade of experience in the administration field.

Passionate about fostering the growth of locally owned small businesses, she takes pride in establishing effective policies, procedures, and organization to help companies thrive.

Beyond the office, Crystal, along with her husband Brady and their Blue Heeler, Hank, enjoy hiking as well as playing softball and dodgeball.

⚡️MEET THE STAFF⚡️

Sarah Dunphy - Kinesiologist

Sarah has been deeply involved in sports from a young age. Growing up in Torbay, she developed a strong passion for athletics through volleyball and basketball, ultimately focusing on basketball. She has competed with multiple provincial and club teams throughout junior high and high school, and continues to stay active in basketball, softball, and touch football.

Sarah also contributes to the sport as a coach for the Gonzaga High School girls’ basketball team.

Her lifelong involvement in athletics sparked an interest in strength training and injury rehabilitation, allowing her to apply her Kinesiology background to enhance her team’s physical performance.

Sarah is currently completing her Bachelor of Physical Education and plans to pursue a career in teaching.

⚡️MEET THE STAFF⚡️

Ben Evans - Kinesiologist

Ben is a kinesiologist originally from Hampton, New Brunswick. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of New Brunswick, graduating in 2024.

Throughout his undergraduate studies, Ben developed a strong connection to St. John’s during several visits to the area, ultimately leading him to pursue his professional career within the community. He is passionate about promoting health. physical activity, sport performance, and is committed to helping individuals reach their personal goals through movement and evidence-based practice.

With a lifelong background in sports, Ben has participated in a wide range of athletic pursuits, including soccer, hockey, and football. He continues to challenge himself physically and recently completed the Cape to Cabot road race, a personal milestone he plans to improve upon each year.

Ben is excited to be a part of the team at Attain Physiotherapy & Sport Performance Center and looks forward to working collaboratively with clients to support their health, performance, and well-being.

Darcy O’Reilly

Growing up in Bay Roberts, Darcy gained a passion for all things sports. From there, his attention shifted to training athletes and people looking to change their lives through exercise for the better.

Darcy completed his Bachelor of Kinesiology Degree through Memorial University in 2021 and followed this up by completing his Masters in Sports Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh in the spring of 2024. He currently has his Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist Certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and completed KILO strength coach training, in addition to various strength and conditioning courses.

Darcy’s experience in Pittsburgh provided him with extensive knowledge in musculoskeletal injury management while teaching Exercise Physiology and Biomechanics and serving as a student team manager for the University of Pittsburgh’s NCAA women’s softball team.

Darcy is excited to be a part of the Attain team and continue to work with athletes and individuals of all levels on their journey to rehabilitation and succeed at the highest level of sport performance!

⚡️MEET THE STAFF⚡️

Dan Hearn - Kinesiologist

Dan grew up in Pasadena, Newfoundland. From a young age, he demonstrated a strong passion for sports and athletics, spending much of his time playing and competing in any sport he could.

After high school, Dan pursued his interest in human movement and performance by completing a Bachelor of Kinesiology at Memorial University, graduating in 2015. During his undergraduate studies, he began training local high school athletes and instructing fitness classes throughout the St. John’s area, sparking his passion for athlete development and strength training.

In 2016, Dan relocated to Houston, Texas, to complete a Master’s degree in Athletic Training at the University of Houston. During his time there, he gained extensive experience working with a variety of NCAA Division I programs, including basketball, football, baseball, soccer, volleyball, track & field and golf.

During his time in Texas, Dan worked and travelled with the University of Houston men’s basketball team, a nationally recognized NCAA Division I program led by Hall of Fame coach Kelvin Sampson.

Following the completion of his Master’s degree, Dan returned home to Newfoundland in 2018 to serve as Director of Sports Performance for the St. John’s Edge of the National Basketball League of Canada (NBLC), overseeing all aspects of physical training, injury rehabilitation, and performance optimization.

Dan is passionate about helping athletes reach their full potential—physically, mentally, and professionally. His commitment to evidence-based practice and individualized care continues to drive his work in athletic performance and rehabilitation.

Dr. Jillian Holden - Chiropractor

Dr. Jillian Holden graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in 2024 and following this moved back to her home town of Conception Bay South.

Prior to attending CMCC, Jillian completed her undergraduate degree at Memorial University, graduating with a Bachelor of Kinesiology (Honours) in 2020.

Since a young age, Jillian has been passionate about physical activity. She has a background in a variety of sports including figure skating, volleyball, hockey and soccer. This led to a special interest in the prevention and rehabilitation of sport-related injuries.

Jillian is dedicated to delivering patient-centered, evidence-based chiropractic care focused on improving health, well-being, and helping individuals return to the activities they love. Away from the clinic, she has served as Team Trainer for Hockey Newfoundland and the U15 AAA Hitmen Hockey Club.

The treatment provided by Jillian is individualized to each of her patient’s needs; she uses techniques such as manipulations/mobilizations, soft tissue therapy, acupuncture, exercise, patient education, and lifestyle modifications, allowing a holistic approach to rehabilitation.

McCailey Mallay - Registered Massage Therapist

Originally from Marystown, McCailey developed a lifelong passion for athletics through years of playing soccer with BPSA and hockey with the Marystown Minor Hockey Association and Marystown Central High School Clippers.

A 2025 graduate of the Registered Massage Therapy program at Academy Canada, McCailey discovered her interest in sports massage through volunteer work at various athletic events.

Her practice focuses on the prevention and rehabilitation of sports-related injuries and optimizing client function and performance.

With a strong athletic background, McCailey brings a deep understanding of sport-specific biomechanics and the physical demands of high-level activity.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, and being with family and friends.

Sarah Patten - Registered Massage Therapist

Sarah has been a Registered Massage Therapist with the CMTNL since 2016 and is an active member in good standing with both the CMTNL and NLMTA.

With over nine years of experience in multidisciplinary settings, she has worked alongside Physiotherapists, Athletic Therapists, Acupuncturists, and Chiropractors to help clients reach their rehabilitation and performance goals.

Her treatment specializations include, sports injuries, TMJ dysfunction, and prenatal massage.

⚡️ MEET THE STAFF ⚡️

Julian Meier - Physiotherapist

Julian is a Registered Physiotherapist with a strong interest in movement, sports performance, and injury recovery.

He completed his Master of Physical Therapy at Western University in London, Ontario after earning a B.Sc. in Kinesiology from McMaster University. His background includes treating a wide range of orthopedic and sports-related injuries, with a particular focus on ankles, knees, and shoulders in athletic populations.

Julian’s rehabilitation approach is active, results-driven, and tailored to each individual. He combines exercise-based therapy, manual therapy techniques, and education to support recovery and improve performance — whether a person is returning to sport, managing a persistent issue, or aiming to move more efficiently.

Growing up playing competitive soccer and dealing with his own injuries has given Julian firsthand insight into the impact that effective rehab can have. He continues to play soccer and enjoys being active outdoors, including hiking and trail running.

Outside of the clinic, Julian is an avid sports fan and he enjoys downtime with hiking and running regularly.

Erin McKinnon - Physiotherapist

Erin completed her Master of Science in Physiotherapy at Dalhousie University in 2024, following a Bachelor of Kinesiology (Honours) from Memorial University in 2020.

Born and raised in St. John’s, Erin developed a strong passion for sport through her years playing soccer, competing at both Atlantic and National levels, and representing Memorial University as a member of the Seahawks Women’s Soccer Team.

Her background in athletics has shaped her professional focus on helping athletes enhance performance, recover from injury, and return to the activities they love. Erin has also contributed to the local sports community as a team trainer with the Feildians Challenge Cup Soccer Team.

Erin has completed course in Acupuncture (AA1), Real Running Assessment and Evaluation, and the Champion Sports PT mentorship program.

Outside the clinic, Erin enjoys running, working out, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. She is dedicated to empowering her patients to take an active role in their health through education, individualized treatment, and ongoing support.
