🌿 Flourish in the Community 🌿

This week, Flourish Health & Wellness partnered with the Newfoundland & Labrador Foster Families Association to deliver a presentation for foster parents called Caring for Yourself While Caring for Others 💚

Foster parents give so much of themselves to support and nurture children in their care. It was an honour to share space together, explore the importance of self-care, and talk about practical ways to refill your own cup while continuing to care for others.

At Flourish, we believe that caring for yourself isn’t selfish — it’s essential. 💫

Thank you to the Foster Families Association for inviting us to be part of this meaningful conversation and for all you do to support families across our province.

Tia and I are practicing what we preach by taking time for self-care after the presentation — enjoying brunch together and connecting with each other! ☕💛

Please reach out if you’re able to help!
Jennifer Edwards-White and I can arrange pick in the Avalon region in the coming week.

During our visit to Nain last week, we heard from foster parents that finding warm winter clothing can be difficult when a child is placed. Clothing stores are a plane-ride away and second-hand items are limited.

With the support of Nunatsiavut Government we are launching a Winter Wear Clothing Closet in Nain - and we need the community's help!

FFNL is accepting donations of gently used children's WARM winter clothing - coats, hats and gloves. The average temperature in Nain in January-February is -17 degrees and snowmobile is the primary mode of transportation. Kids need warm coats!

Cash donations are also accepted to purchase items and to assist with shipping costs.
