Originally founded as Moksha Yoga, we've been turning up the heat in St. John's since February 2012 – inspiring you to live your best life, and to help you cope with the long St. John's is a clean, spacious and relaxing spa-inspired studio. The studio is infused with the refreshing aroma of essential oils from our plant-based cleaning products, and comforting aroma of cedarwood in our practice rooms – helping to promote a deeper sense of peace and relaxation. Whether you are an absolute beginner or a more experienced yogi, we offer over 40 weekly in-studio classes that are challenging, healthy and fun. Our goal is to help you leave feeling calm, fit, and inspired – on and off your yoga mat. Our foundational practice is Modo – a dynamic system of hot yoga postures and breathing exercises rooted in the traditional teachings of yoga and yoga therapy concepts, specifically designed to be practiced in the heat. One of our favourite parts of the studio is our artwork wall—a rotating collection of unique pieces that changes every few months. This wall fills our space with creativity and inspiration, and helps foster a deeper sense of community.

Our Community Artist this month is Katie Miller.
Katie is a nature and wildlife photographer based in St. John’s. With a foundation in biology and a deep curiosity for the natural world, her work weaves together art and science to explore the beauty of local flora, fauna, and fungi.

Each photograph is a testament to the power of observation, the beauty of detail, and the wonder that exists within the unseen. Viewers are invited to pause, get curious, and look a little closer—discovering the magic found in the small moments. After all, life is full of them.

Meet Donnel 👋🏽
His introduction to yoga began in 2008 within the Modo Yoga Winnipeg community. Through dedicated attendance, passion, and enthusiasm, he became an energy exchanger over the following years and eventually joined the front desk staff. In 2012, he attended Modo Yoga International’s 500-hour teacher training in Bahia, Brazil.

Over the years, Donnel’s teaching style has been continually enriched through mentorship with senior Iyengar and Vinyasa instructors in Winnipeg, Manitoba; self-study in mindfulness; and his professional work and academic studies in counselling and mental health.

Donnel is deeply grateful to share this incredibly grounding and therapeutic practice with the St. John’s community.

🤸🏽 Registration is now open for our upcoming Minis (ages 3–6) & Kids (ages 7–11) Yoga Series.

We adapt traditional yoga into mindfulness practices and breathing techniques, all while weaving in an element of play. This approach supports kids in building strength, flexibility, and body awareness, while also helping to develop focus and emotional regulation in a calm, supportive environment.

🧘🏻‍♀️ 60-minute class in our non-heated Dharma Room
🌿 Led by instructor, Melissa Johnson.

Minis Yoga (Ages 3–6)

Kids Yoga (Ages 7-11)

Cancellation Policy Reminder 🚨⏰

You can cancel your class online or via the Modo Yoga App or our website up to 2 hours before class with no penalty.

Within 2 hours of class:
❌ Unlimited Members: Late cancellation fee $10 & No-show fee $15
❌ Credit Holders: Missed or late-cancelled classes result in the loss of one class credit

🌿 Emergencies: If something unexpected comes up, please contact us by phone or email so we can update your booking and avoid fees.

📲 Cancellations that are non-emergent are not accepted via Instagram, phone, or email.
