Acu with Stacey

Acu with Stacey Stacey is a Registered Acupuncturist in St. John’s, NL and runs an affordable Community Acu Clinic.

Introduced to the world of health and wellness during her undergraduate studies in Fine Arts at OCAD University, she explored self-healing and mindfulness within the framework of her art practice. During this period of study, Stacey was in a serious bike accident that caused her a great deal of physical and emotional trauma. Seeking alternative care to help her heal, she was introduced to acupuncture. Immediate relief resulting from her treatments motivated her to learn more about this fascinating form of medicine. After completing her BFA, she enrolled in Traditional Chinese Medicine studies. Stacey’s practice is rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), helping guide individuals in restoring their internal balance while alleviating pain and releasing tension from the physical and emotional body. The therapeutic forms Stacey uses include acupuncture, cupping, guasha, moxibustion, acupressure massage, TCM nutrition and lifestyle management. Through these modalities, Stacey helps adolescents and adults address a range of acute and chronic pain, illnesses, diseases, digestion issues, stress management and much more. Areas of Specialization: Anxiety, depression, stress, addiction, digestion, sleep disorders, back pain, headaches, PMS, dysmenorrhea, and endometriosis. Stacey also has various experiences
in Mindfulness-based practices, which she incorporates within her treatments, such as visualization and breathing techniques. Stacey’s greatest passion is educating and empowering patients to take control of their own health.

It’s been a while since I introduced myself, so here’s a little about me, your friendly neighbourhood acupuncturist:

✨ I first experienced acupuncture in 2013 after a bike accident, and it changed my life. By 2015 I was studying TCM, and I’ve now been practicing for 7 years.

✨ I enjoy hiking, camping, and a good sit infront of a wood stove or beach fire.

✨ I learned piano first, but those skills have gone quiet—so now I stick to my one guaranteed karaoke hits: Killing Me Softly. Crowd pleaser, every time.

✨I love surrounding myself with strong, passionate people—especially womxn who lift each other up.

✨ I’ve been sober for 11+ years, and nearly 5 years from all mind-mood altering substances. Supporting mental health + addiction in and out of my practice, is one of my greatest passions.

✨ I have a dog named Phil, who sadly passed this past August, but his spirit is with me everyday. He was the best camping partner ever!

✨currently trying my hand at sourdough, thanks to the help of my intern— thanks Calista!

✨and don’t ask me why, but sometimes I go on crazy long runs up multiple hills.

✨I did a degree in contemporary photography prior to TCM, and still take the odd shot here and there.

✨ I believe deeply in creating a space that is inclusive, trauma-informed, and anti-oppressive.

✨ I also believe the greatest gift you can give anyone, is your time. (🙏🏼 Rex Roberts)

✨ And for full disclosure—I love cereal, which I KNOW! I KNOW! is not a TCM favourite, but as I tell my patients—‘joy is also a food group!’

Thanks for coming this far! 🙏🏼

The universe has aligned and Johanne and Ian are freshly back from Spirithorse in Wales where they completed their Enlightenment Intensive Masters Training. They both have a long ~20 year history as participants in Enlightenment Intensives as well as monitors and support staff to EIs under other masters.

In 1968, Charles Berner, a spiritual teacher in California, had a vision of a technique to combine eastern Zen teachings with western psychology that resulted in a format that vastly increases the possibility of participants having direct experiences of Absolute Truth. Truth can also be termed the Divine or God, and can only be experienced directly. In this format, that we call au naturel, we attain direct union with That. All spiritual and religious practices are serving this end. Enlightenment Intensives have since expanded all over the world.

Ian and Johanne have decided to co-master their first Enlightenment Intensive. Its a huge commitment for them. Many of you, may be new to this type of spiritual work, which is great because it is recommended that their first intensive have a high proportion of newcomers. May you become troopers like us because experiences of Truth are infinite, and bring us as close to freedom as is possible in this earthly form!

Such incredible news for our province. Health care should always be accessible and affordable—especially when it comes to addiction support. With so many individuals and families impacted, the need has never been greater. This is a huge step in the right direction. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
