Sending a huge congratulations to all athletes, coaches, families, organizers and volunteers for an incredible showing at the Canada Games! To see the work all involved put in is simply astounding. In the face of weather extremes, wildfire, the athletes persevered to show their best! I had the incredible opportunity to represent our province at the Games, and it is a once in a lifetime experience! To all athletes, take time to decompress and debrief your experiences! Outcomes aren’t everything, but building on processes and learning about yourself is a priority!

Summer is a busy time for athletes, coaches and teams as they progress in their sport or prepare for upcoming camps, tournaments or seasons which begin in the fall. I thoroughly enjoy working with this population as I am not only able to combine my counselling psychology knowledge, but also use my experience as a high level coach and athlete! Using this knowledge and experience certainly helps me to understand and validate the athlete, coach and team experience, while providing mental skills and support to help improve their life inside and out of sport!
