What we are currently experiencing is not normal- there is a collective trauma and a collective grief that has been shaking the ground beneath us for years, and constantly bracing for the next big disaster keeps your nervous system operating in a state of high alert.

You’ve likely heard of the “fight-or-flight” response, but do you know what actually happens to your body in response to threat? It is a survival-driven reaction of the Sympathetic Nervous System that cause your heart rate, blood pressure, and breathing rate to increase. Your muscles tense and levels of adrenaline and cortisol rise in the body, in preparation for danger. Everything feels urgent. Over time this shows up as anxiety and chronic stress- mentally, physically, and emotionally.

If that sounds all too familiar, there is some positive news: you can counter that energy. The Parasympathetic Nervous System has a lesser known “rest-and-digest” response, which promotes energy conservation, digestion, and restorative functions, while calming the body after stress. We’d love to help you activate that.

Urgency is learned- which means it can be unlearned. In a world where safety and approval are tied to speed and productivity, where overstimulation and dysregulation is the norm, the body learns to rush. We have the power to retrain this pattern through repeated experiences of slowing down while feeling safe, and this incredible group of teachers have come together to offer that to you. Each bringing their own unique perspective and modalities, but with the common intention to help you come back to calm.

This series is intended to be deeply restorative, and is accessible to all levels: come as you are, no experience is required. All offerings will be gentle, floor based, and well supported with lots of cozy props.

Expecting a new little bundle of love? 🐣

The next 6-week session of Prenatal Yoga with Emilie is open for registration, beginning February 26.

These classes are a beautiful opportunity to stretch and strengthen your changing body, connect with your growing baby, and meet other mamas in the same phase of life.

Whether you are seeking movement or stillness, we’ve got you covered on Monday evenings.

Margot offers a great mix of strength and stretchy goodness, with Flow & Chill @ 5:30pm. If you spend your day sitting, this is such a good option to release some tension- mentally & physically!

Wade follows at 7pm with Whole Body Yoga Nidra: an incredibly restful and restorative class, and a beautiful choice if your nervous system has been operating on high alert. You can expect some gentle stretching and breathwork to bring awareness to the body, before melting into a Yoga Nidra guided meditation.

We’d love to see you on the mat 😌

I found yoga in my early 20s, as a former dancer seeking a creative way to move my body.

What I found on the mat was SO much more than that- and it keeps me coming back everyday, 15 years later.

A way to move through the world both stronger AND softer, more in touch with myself, more at ease in my body and mind.

The world is both burning and blooming. 🌿

I read this piece to my class yesterday, and so many students commented afterwards how much it resonated with them.

Some days it may all feel too heavy- but let this serve as your reminder, how very important it is that we keep feeling everything. That we don’t go numb to the injustices, that we don’t stop noticing the glimmers of joy and light. ✨

You don’t have to choose. Let it all in.

Start the day bright with Rise & Shine! ☀️

This compact morning class starts with a short meditation to set the tone for your day, followed by a mix of stretchy goodness and strength work to get your blood pumping and energy flowing.

Perfect for days when time is tight, or in addition to your regular practice to help you flow stronger.

✨ Monday/Wednesday/Friday — 6:45-7:15am ✨

This one is online only for now (via Zoom), but as the mornings lighten up we may move into the studio for Spring/Summer.

(Not an early bird? No worries! All our online classes are recorded, so you can enjoy in your own time up to 48 hrs after.)

This slow-paced, meditative flow class is designed to help you unwind and release tension midweek. 🌿

You’ll begin with grounding and breathwork, to calm the mind and integrate the body’s energy. From there you can expect gentle, fluid movement for the spine, hips and shoulders, before ending with a restorative supine phase to reset your nervous system

Jenna’s intention is to create a healing, soulful experience that will leave you feeling centered, relaxed, and connected to your own energy.

Props like bolsters, blankets, sound bowls and eye pillows (or similar) may be used. (All levels)
