New Class Alert!! 🚨

(This one is about as chill as it gets.)

Whole Body is a one‑hour Yoga Nidra practice designed for people who want to feel revived through deep, conscious rest and inner exploration. The class begins with breath work, moves into simple, floor‑based stretches to enhance relaxation, and closes with a guided Yoga Nidra practice using custom and traditional scripts to support whole‑body awareness.

This session is for anyone looking to de‑stress, reset, and tune in to the calm within. Whether you’re new to yoga, returning after time away, or a regular practitioner, Whole Body offers a safe, supportive space to pause, reset, reconnect.

Wade teaches yoga the way he strives to live: steady, simple, and true. He began practicing in the mid‑2000s and became a familiar face at Nova Yoga where he practiced almost daily for more than a decade. In 2018 he completed his 200‑hour Hatha Yoga certification with Shakti Yoga, followed by specialized training in Yoga Nidra. After a two‑year hiatus to focus on his own practice, Wade returned with a clear intention: to share what yoga has given him—recovery, reconnection, and peace.

The first offering is tonight, November 10th at 7pm.

What a gorgeous way to wind down before a stormy Tuesday holiday- reminder that the studio will be closed tomorrow, November 11th, in observation of Remembrance Day.

Are you afraid of the dark? 🌚

Take a trip through the shadow side with me in this thoughtfully curated pop-up class, as we explore emotion and sensation through Flow and Stillness.

Lights will be low, vibes will be high- with a special playlist and a Flow to make you feel something. 🎶

This class is being offered In Studio only, and prior experience with Vinyasa Yoga is recommended.

I’m quite looking forward to this one- I’d love to see you there. ✨

The days are getting shorter, and the clocks fall back on the night of November 1st. If you find yourself feeling the “fall fatigue” already, know that you’re not alone- mood/energy shifting with the seasons is a part of the cycle, you’re not lazy or unproductive or inadequate. 🍂

The darkness combined with the state of the world can easily lead to feeling dreary- so this November, I invite you to make yourself a priority. Join us for 30 days of wellness, to keep a little light burning through the shadows. ✨

Traditionally our 30 day challenge = 30 classes in 30 days, but if that feels like a lot, set a goal that works for you. I invite you to make this one your own by setting a personal intention and committing to daily habits that make you feel good.

Meet Maggie! ☀️

After discovering yoga six years ago, Maggie’s relationship with the practice evolved from something physical into a deeply transformative way of life. Inspired by how much it supported her holistic well-being, she completed her teacher training in Vinyasa and Hatha yoga this past May. Since then, she has taught in South America and back home in Newfoundland, and her love for sharing the practice continues to grow each day.

Her teaching blends creativity, connection, and calm — weaving soulful flows with deep stretch and soothing meditation. Each class is grounding and intentional, thoughtfully created to leave you feeling energized in your body, connected to your breath, and anchored in the present moment. More than anything, Maggie’s hope is that her students carry this sense of balance and ease off the mat and into their everyday lives.

We are so happy to welcome her warm and sunny energy to our community- come say hi at Lunch Flow tomorrow, Tuesday October 21! 😌✨

You may have noticed a basket of rocks appear in our prop corner recently- these are our Consent Stones! ✨

Hands-on assists can be a really useful tool to help guide a student into a pose, provide support, or improve alignment. When done effectively they can enhance awareness of your body and aid in preventing injury.

Some of our teachers may offer adjustments during class or in Savasana- but never without your permission, which is where these little guys come in!

Respecting your personal boundaries is super important to us, and we’ve intentionally gone with a silent “opt-in” system here to ensure your comfort:

✅ If you are open to physical touch you can simply collect a stone and place it near the top of your mat to let us know.

❌ No stone = No thank you! 😌

A teacher once told me, “saying you’re not flexible enough to take a yoga class is like saying you can’t play guitar so you would never take a lesson.”

Thats what we’re here for- to TEACH you! And with practice, you’re never too old (or too stiff) to learn something new.

Yoga isn’t just a physical experience, and it isn’t a ladies only affair. It’s a tool to help build mental resilience and overall well-being, and is equally effective for men!

Yoga for Guys is a no-pressure zone with other like-minded dudes, tailored specifically to meet you where you’re at. And hopefully, to help you feel a little better in your body and your mind. 🧘🏼‍♂️

Meet Katy — one of our amazing teachers here at Nova! ☺️

✨ Katy is a lifelong movement enthusiast who is honoured to be able to share her passion through teaching. She started her movement journey with dance and has gained over 20 years of experience teaching a variety of styles. Katy fell in love with Yoga after experiencing the beautiful sense of community gained through collective breath and presence. After several years of practice, Katy completed the 200hr Vinyasa YTT program with Pure Yoga Ottawa. She is also an Associate Diploma Member of Cecchetti Canada (Cecchetti International Classical Ballet) and a certified Acrobatic Arts instructor.

💫 Teaching Style:
Expect energizing, dance-inspired, mindful movement. Katy’s fluid sequences create space for creativity, release, and connection that will leave you feeling both energized and relaxed all at once.

❤️ Fun facts:
- Katy has 2 sweet pups named Brigus and Arlo. 🐶
- She is Co-Founder/Artistic Director of Mosaic Dance Company based in St. John’s
- ⁠She loves an IVL but only if it’s extra sweet! ☕️
