In yoga, compassion is not the same as indulgence. We can honor the divine in others while remaining steady in our responsibilities. Being present doesn’t just mean showing up — it means showing up fully. Leadership, presence, and clarity are acts of service: to the work, to the students, and to the practice itself. When a teacher or leader stays focused and consistent, it helps everyone learn and feel safe. Holding space with integrity allows others to flourish, and teaches that true support comes from consistency, not compromise. Compassion isn’t letting things slide — it’s holding space with care, steadiness, and respect. When we practice this in yoga, we also learn how to bring the same clarity and integrity into our own lives.
