We’re looking for an articulate, detail-oriented, people-focused individual to join our optometry team on a part-time basis. If you enjoy helping people, keeping things organized, and working in a calm, professional environment, this could be a great fit.

What the role involves:
✨ Greeting patients and creating a welcoming experience
✨ Scheduling appointments & managing patient flow
✨ Accurate data entry and administrative support
✨ Assisting the doctor with simple pre-testing procedures (training provided)

You’d be a great match if you:
✔ Have strong communication skills
✔ Are comfortable with computers and learning new systems
✔ Take pride in accuracy and staying organized
✔ Enjoy working with people in a friendly, professional setting

Hours are part-time and flexible. Experience in medical or customer service settings is helpful but not required—we’re happy to train the right person.

It’s movie time once again in Stonewall. Starting August 27 till August 29 our patients should access our office through our south entrance (located beside the Rockwood Motor Inn). When you are finished with your appointment stop in for a coffee or a yummy burger at le Petit Café. You’ll also be able to catch a peak of the many older vehicles that rolled into town!

Dr. McCrae and Dr. Dunford believe that offering affordable eyecare for all patients is a must. With OCT imaging now included in eye exams, our patients no longer have to choose whether this important diagnostic imaging is within their budget.

An OCT works similar to an ultrasound. It provides real-time images of your eyes internal structures like an ultrasound, but an OCT uses light waves instead of sound waves.

In some cases, OCT’s can help your optometrist diagnose eye disease earlier which allows for more effective treatment. In addition to early disease diagnosis, an OCT can also help with monitoring the progression of eye diseases and diagnose other diseases like high blood pressure, Multiple Sclerosis and vascular diseases to name a few.

In an effort to make our services more accessible, Anna and Viktoriia have been spending time recently at Lions Manor. By visiting in person, we are able to help with minor adjustments, provide care bags for glasses maintenance, help with appointment bookings and provide quotes for those who may have trouble getting around. They've enjoyed this so much they'll be continuing their visits throughout the summer and we hope to expand to other facilities in the area.

In an effort to provide an affordable option for our older patients, for a limited time we will now be offering Frames and Lenses starting as low as $199 to anyone 60+.

Wearing sunglasses protects your eyes from ultraviolet (UV) light. UV light can have harmful effects on all parts of the eye.

Our local lens supplier HOYA offers a wide range of sun lens designs, materials and treatments that will ensure patients are protected and happy.

Children should be referred for a comprehensive eye exam whenever visual symptoms are noticed or if they are not achieving their potential. Many of these vision problems will not be detected during a school vision screening or limited vision assessment as part of a school physical or routine pediatric health evaluation.

Ukraine has been hit hard recently with many families seeking safer homes. Dr. Dunford and her team at Doctors Vision Centre are teaming up with Allison Churchill and the organization Canada Host Ukraine to help families make Manitoba their new home.

We humbly ask the community to assist with donations in helping make the transition easier. We will be accepting donations in the form of dry goods, kitchen and bath towels, cleaning products, toiletries, laundry detergent, etc. Basically anything that you would need when moving into your first home.

We would gladly accept cash donations or gift cards for things like various grocery stores, Walmart, Superstore, etc.

Clothing and large furniture is not needed at this time.

Donations can be dropped off during regular business hours at Doctors Vision Centre at 384 Main St.

Monday, Tuesday and Friday: 9-5:30
Wednesday: 11-7:00
Thursday: 9-6:30
