Winter sun + snow = double the UV exposure for your eyes!
Many people don't realize that photokeratitis (corneal sunburn) is just as likely on snowy days as sunny beach days. The reflection amplifies UV damage significantly.
Quality sunglasses aren't just a summer accessory. They're essential eye protection every season. Look for lenses that block both UVA and UVB rays for complete coverage.
Protect your vision by visiting us in Stoney Creek, ON this winter! 🕶️
Oil gland dysfunction affects tear production and eyelid health, creating conditions that allow bacteria to thrive. 😲
This means treating just the stye without addressing the underlying dry eye often leads to recurring problems.
Our comprehensive eye exams can identify meibomian gland dysfunction and dry eye symptoms early. With proper diagnosis, we can create a treatment plan that addresses both concerns.
Winter comfort food can be both delicious and vision-friendly! 🥗
This nutrient-packed combination helps protect your eyes when daylight hours are shorter. Lutein and zeaxanthin act as natural sunglasses for your retina, while omega-3s support tear production.
Perfect timing as we head into the season of cozy meals and holiday gatherings. ✨
This January, we are highlighting Glaucoma Awareness Month. Glaucoma is the second leading cause of blindness worldwide, often showing no early symptoms. Protect your vision—schedule an eye exam today. Early detection can save your sight.
Different conditions can cause blurry vision at different distances.
- Hyperopia (farsightedness) can cause blurry vision up close.
- Myopia (nearsightedness) can cause blurry vision far away.
- Astigmatism can cause blurry vision at every distance.
Glasses, contact lenses, and other treatments can help you address all these conditions and see clearly. Book an appointment to update your vision prescription. We can help you get eyewear that meets your needs.

Stoney Creek Optometry is the longest serving and most reputable optometry clinic. We have five doctors, all certified in ocular therapeutics, who use the latest technology.
Our optometry clinic in Stoney Creek is located in the prestigious Stoney Creek Professional Arts Building on Queenston Road next to Fortinos Plaza. We are open six days a week, including early mornings and evenings. We provide a full range of vision care services, including comprehensive eye examinations for patients of all ages, and emergency eye care. There is free parking at the rear of the building and our clinic is wheelchair accessible and close to all major bus routes.
Our optical dispensary has the largest selection in the area with over 1,500 frames in stock.
Our frames range from value conscious frames to several designer brands, including many exclusive brands, several of which only large select clinics are able to carry. We do not follow the Ontario Association of Optometrists fee guide, but rather our fees are considerably lower. At our clinic your designer eye glasses are much more affordable. All our frames carry a full two years warranty.
We also carry a large selection of designer sunglasses.
We have an in-house laboratory where many prescriptions can be filled while you wait.
COMPREHENSIVE EYE EXAMINATION
We use the latest technology to perform the most accurate and thorough comprehensive eye examination.
We initially do a thorough investigation to determine the most accurate prescription to correct any visual problems correctable by glasses or contact lenses. We then do a thorough assessment of the health of the eye to detect if any diseases are present or developing. Early detection of eye diseases is critical in maintaining good eye health and preventing visual loss. All of our doctors are trained and certified in ocular therapeutics. If surgical treatment is required we will promptly refer patients requiring such. We also co-manage patients seeking Lasik surgery.
ADVANCED RETINAL IMAGING
We offer advanced retinal imaging which takes digital pictures of the back of the eye to determine your current eye condition.
Using the latest technology available, the doctors at Stoney Creek Optometry are able to capture, examine and review these images with you during your eye exam. Retinal images are captured in less than a second and nothing will touch your eyes. Retinal photos are critical as they detect, measure and alert our optometrists of any potential health risks, including early diagnosis of diabetic retinopathy, hypertension, macular degeneration and glaucoma.
CORRECTIVE EYE SURGERY
We will give you a thorough assessment during your eye exam to determine if you are a suitable candidate for Lasik surgery.
We will then discuss with you the advantages and disadvantages of Lasik surgery. Should you decide to proceed we work with the top Lasik clinics in Hamilton and Toronto and will co-manage your surgery with the chosen clinic.
