Occupational therapists (OTs) can help promote accessibility and independence of the client by assessing their home set up or common community locations, to ensure the spaces are accessible and safe. OTs can help in a variety of ways such as organizing rooms in the home to match the client’s needs, or help the client practice public transit so they can access their community.
