Cordyceps

(Cordyceps militaris)
Also known as D**g Chong Xia Cao

“Winter worm, summer grass.”

In traditional East Asian herbalism, this poetic name describes a remarkable fungus that was once found growing from a caterpillar host high in the mountains.

Today, Cordyceps militaris is carefully cultivated and offers many of the same valued compounds — including cordycepin and beta-glucans — without wild harvesting.

Traditionally used to support:
• Energy & stamina
• Lung vitality
• Immune resilience
• Recovery & overall tonic support

Preparation:
Simmer 1–3 grams in water for 20–30 minutes, or add to broths and soups.

A vibrant orange mushroom ally for strength and restoration.

Hours Update
Starting February 1st ‘Thistle and Barry Apothecary’ will be adjusting our shop hours.
After a year of being open, we’ve learned when most of our customers tend to visit, this change allows us to be fully present during those times while keeping the shop sustainably long-term.
