Parkview Services for Seniors is comprised of two Ontario Non-Profit Corporations. The Mennonite Home Association of York County was formed in 1964 to meet the need for of a Senior Citizen’s Home in Whitchurch –Stouffville area. A 63 bed care Home opened in 1965 on Rupert Avenue and a further 49 beds were added in 1971. Residents and staff moved to a new building on Weldon Road in September 2006. This 128 bed Long-Term Care Home is fully accredited with commendation. The Parkview Village Retirement Community Association of York Region was formed in 1984, to operate a 124 unit rental apartment building which provides for independent living along with a variety of supportive services in collaboration with care partners. In 1989, The Parkview Village Cluster Homes for Seniors Association of York Region was formed to provide an independent living environment under a life lease model.

Parkview Services for Seniors is inviting expressions of interest from individuals who would like to contribute their skills, experience, and passion to our Board of Directors for the 2026–2029 term.
As a nonprofit, Parkview is dedicated to serving seniors with compassion, excellence, and community-mindedness. Through our long-term care home, independent living community, and community programs, we enhance the lives of older adults in Stouffville and the wider York Region.
Our Board of Directors provides leadership and governance to ensure that Parkview continues to fulfill its mission and operate with integrity, accountability, and vision.
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking individuals who share our commitment to seniors and bring expertise in one or more of the following areas:
• Accounting (preferably CPA designation)
• Legal
• Strategic Planning, Project Management, or Project Development
Ideal candidates will also demonstrate:
• Alignment with Parkview’s mission and values
• Understanding of nonprofit governance and fiduciary responsibility
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• A connection to the local community and an interest in seniors’ issues
• Willingness to dedicate approximately 5–10 hours per month to board and committee work

🥪 National Sandwich Day at Parkview Village! 🥪
Did you know November 3 was National Sandwich Day? The staff and residents at Parkview Village sure did — and we celebrated in delicious style! Everyone enjoyed a tasty lunch featuring a variety of fresh deli sandwiches, and it was a big hit all around.
A simple meal, great conversation, and smiling faces made for a wonderful afternoon.

🎃 Halloween Costume Contest Fun! 🎃
We held a Halloween Costume Contest at our Halloween Party on Friday, and our residents did not disappoint! From spooky to silly and everything in between, the creativity was incredible. Our judges had a very difficult time picking just three winners — as you can see, everyone could have taken home a prize! 👻🕸️🧡

🎃✨ Halloween Fun at Parkview Home! ✨🎃
Today we hosted our annual costume parade and candy hand-out — and what a wonderful celebration it was! Residents, families, and staff all joined in on the fun as costumes filled the halls and sweet treats were shared. There were smiles all around as bedside visits occurred during the parade’s travels through the home, and dining rooms were transformed into viewing galleries with interactive candy hand-outs. 💜

Village Residents had a wonderful lunch outing at the Mandarin in Markham! 🥢 An all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet filled with soups, seafood, mains, and desserts — we left with full bellies and happy hearts!

Parkview Celebrates National Infection Prevention and Control Week!
From October 20–24, Parkview Home proudly joined healthcare teams across Ontario in celebrating National Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) Week!
The building was abuzz with activity — from vaccine clinics to hands-on education sessions and an exciting IPAC Fair that brought learning to life. Our team members led with enthusiasm, sharing knowledge and reinforcing the importance of infection prevention in keeping our residents, staff, and community safe.
A big thank you to everyone who participated and helped make IPAC Week such a success! Together, we continue to build a safer, healthier Parkview. 💙🩺✨

Last week, Parkview Village residents had the pleasure of embarking on a scenic steamship cruise across the beautiful waters of Lake Muskoka. Surrounded by vibrant autumn colours, everyone enjoyed a relaxing journey complete with a delicious lunch served onboard. It was a memorable outing filled with laughter, good company, and stunning fall views!
