Let’s NORMALIZE that Body Weight FLUCTUATES!
The number on a scale is a consolidation of your body mass, lean muscle, skeleton, fat, water, blood, organs and 💩 stool!
Nevermind what time of day you’re weighing in, the clothes you’re wearing and the frequency of those checkins.
It is normal for a body to fluctuate between 2-5 lbs.
Depending on what food you’ve eaten, when, how much, if you’ve had a BM 💩, if you’ve exercised, how much water you’ve drank, where you’re at in your cycle 🩸, stress, alcohol 🍷 or the quality and hours of sleep.
There are SO many factors at play when you step on the scale to weigh in!
The biggest mistake I see women making when it comes to scale weight is not how often she’s weighing in, the time of day or the reality of her weight (loss) goals.
The biggest mistake women make is attaching her SELF WORTH to the numbers on the scale!!
It’s a “bad day” if the scale isn’t “cooperating”
Or it’s a “good day” when her weight is down.
Making meaning out of the mass of your bones 🦴, muscle 💪 and fluids 🩸 has got to stop!
The scale will fluctuate and if you’re on a weight loss journey focus more on the range of those numbers, rather than the number week to week or day to day.
Do you notice patterns in your weight?
During ovulation, my weight always blips UP 2-3 lbs every single month! And I can FEEL it too. Crampy and inflamed
After a restaurant meal with soup or sauces, my weight hit often goes up for a few days as well, likely due to the sodium content and preservatives
✈️ Travel often back me up 💩 so that’s another factor that increases my weight.
On the downside, my body usually releases a couple of pounds around my period 🩸- I know for other women it’s the opposite!
The more you have awareness around these fluctuations, the more neutral you’ll observe the scale as a measure of your bones and body, NOT your intrinsic value as a human being.
You are so much more than a number on the scale!
Don’t forget that! ❤️
