We're sending our heartfelt thanks to Taylor's Delicatessen, Realtor Shaun Pickering , and Cam and the Gibson Family for their generous fundraiser on November 15. Their special sandwich sale event brought the community together in such a meaningful way, and we are so grateful to receive these proceeds.

Every gift helps us continue providing compassionate, specialized care to individuals and loved ones when they need it most. We're deeply thankful for this kindness, and for everyone who stopped by to enjoy a sandwich and support our work.

🩵International Volunteer Day 🩵

Today, we celebrate the heart of Rotary Hospice: our incredible community of over 150 volunteers who give their time, energy, and compassion in countless ways.

Whether they're welcoming loved ones and visitors at the door, tending to our gardens, offering comfort and compassion at the bedside, creating music in our hallways, preparing nourishing meals in our kitchen, supporting individuals in our community, or helping with our fundraising events, every act of service makes a meaningful difference.

To each and every volunteer: thank you. Your presence matters more than you know. We couldn't do this work without you.

✨ Meet A Christmas Carol Host John Miller ✨

Guiding this year's performance is John Miller, a thoughtful, engaging host whose presence brings warmth, polish, and ease to the entire evening. With a long history of championing the arts, including his leadership with Stratford Summer Music, John understands how to create an atmosphere where stories land deeply and community feels connected.

We're grateful to have John at the helm of this beloved event, helping shape a performance that is fresh, moving, and uniquely its own.

Don't miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime evening in support of hospice care. Join us this Sunday, December 7 at 7 pm at Avondale United Church.

On this , we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Hubbard Pharmacy for generously sponsoring our Lights of Love Lighting & Remembrance Ceremony again this year. Their support helps us share light, comfort, and connection with our community.

There's still time to sponsor a light and leave a dedication message. Our Lights of Love Holiday Campaign runs until December 31, with the slideshow and list of dedications on our website, as well as the window display in our hospice home, being updated regularly.

✨Meet A Christmas Carol Performers The Flight Children's Choir ✨

This year's dramatic reading of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol will feature the voices of the Flight Studio-Stratford Children's Choir, directed by Brooke Dufton, a passionate choral leader known for shaping young voices with care, precision, and artistry. Under her direction, the choir has become a standout in our community for performances that feel both joyful and beautifully polished.

As part of our annual A Christmas Carol, the choir will bring an evocative musical layer to the night, adding something entirely unique to this year's cast of storytellers and musicians. Each year introduces a new circle of readers and performers, and the choir's contribution ensures this year's event with have a tone and texture all its own.

Today is Giving Tuesday, a reminder that community care is built by many small hands, many small gifts, and a shared belief that compassion matters.

If you've ever visited our hospice home, attended one of our events, joined a bereavement group, or simply felt grateful that a space like this exists, today is for you. Donations made today help sustain a home where dignity, care, and comfort come first.

And if you happen to be in St. Marys today, here's another simple way to show your support: stop by The Hitching Post 2019 Ltd. for coffee and cookies, offered by donation in support of Rotary Hospice.

There is no perfect donation amount. There is only the act itself, choosing connection, choosing care, choosing each other. Visit www.rotaryhospice.ca/ways-to-give to make your donation today.

Thank you for being part of the community that makes compassionate end-of-life care possible.

With sincere gratitude to Ron Holmes for his generous gift to our Every Day Counts campaign, paying for one day of care for one resident room, made in loving memory of his wife, Joan. Today, we remember and celebrate a life that continues to inspire and is deeply missed.

The Every Day Counts campaign helps support Rotary Hospice by inviting individuals to contribute $350, which is the amount needed to cover operating costs per room per day. While residents receive care at no cost, Rotary Hospice depends on community donations to cover essential expenses not funded by the government. Your support directly enhances the quality of care we provide, helping us remain a place of comfort, dignity, and compassion.
