Wellspring Stratford will be closed on Friday, December 5 for our annual Holiday Volunteer Celebration.
This special gathering is our chance to honour and appreciate the incredible volunteers who keep Wellspring thriving 💚 from our front desk and peer support volunteers to our energy healers and fundraisers. We truly couldn’t do what we do without you.
We look forward to celebrating with you on Friday!

The 20th Annual Cookies & Carols will take place on Saturday, December 20th, 2025.

To help get children and families into the holiday spirit, the Falstaff Family Centre (FFC) is inviting the community to its annual Cookies & Carols event Saturday, December 20. For the first time, the presentation will be offered twice, with an afternoon event starting at 3:30 p.m. and remounted that same evening at 6:30 p.m. (doors open 30 minutes prior)

Once again, the event will be hosted by Michael Fox, with carols, music and readings by Loreena McKennitt, as well as Gemini Award-winning actor Cedric Smith, who will narrate a portion of A Child’s Christmas in Wales, by Dylan Thomas. Santa Claus himself will appear at 4:15 and 7:15 p.m. and there will be lots of carol singing in between with everyone invited to join in. Cookies and beverages will also be on offer.

“This is a cherished tradition we love hosting for the community,” says McKennitt, owner and director of the FFC. “We look forward to seeing people again in person and enjoying the spirit of the season.”

The event is free but donations will be gratefully accepted for Wellspring Stratford.

“Wellspring Stratford is honoured to be the beneficiary of this year’s Cookies & Carols event,” said Lisa Stacey, House Manager of Wellspring Stratford. “As a community-funded organization that receives no government support, events like this help ensure we can continue offering our programs at no cost to anyone affected by cancer. We’re deeply grateful for this generosity.”

The FFC has been hosting the Cookies & Carols event for twenty years, since McKennitt bought the former school in 2000.

On Friday, December 19, they’re featuring their special Wellspring Sandwich — the Well-Wich 🥪💚
A portion of every Well-Wich sold will be donated back to Wellspring Stratford.

We’ll be opening the Centre from 12:00–3:00 p.m. for anyone who wants to grab a Well-Wich and then join us at Wellspring to eat together, share some laughs, and enjoy a little holiday cheer before we close for the season.

It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of the extraordinary Kelly Walker.

Kelly was not only a gifted musician, but a deeply compassionate and generous soul who gave so much of himself to Wellspring Stratford and to this community. We were honoured to have him play piano at our poetry book launch with , and even more recently, in October, he performed a stunning solo concert at in support of Wellspring. Though the show was meant to be shared with , an unexpected incident meant she couldn’t attend, but Kelly stepped onto that stage alone and delivered an unforgettable evening of music, raising over $3,500 for our centre.

Kelly and Maria had been rehearsing for their special performance planned for the new year. I had the privilege of hearing one of the songs they were preparing, and it was nothing short of breathtaking. It breaks our hearts to know that this beautiful collaboration will never be fully realized.

Kelly touched so many lives with his kindness, talent, and gentle spirit. Words feel too small to capture the incredible man he was or the lasting impact he made on everyone who knew him or heard him play. He will be missed beyond measure.

Our deepest love and condolences go out to Ray, to Kelly’s family and friends, and to the entire community who cherished him so dearly. We are forever grateful for his generosity, his artistry, and the light he brought into our world.

Thank you, Kelly. We will never forget you.

Last Friday’s Bosom Buddies event at the Stratford Country Club was nothing short of magical. ✨

What an incredible evening of women lifting each other up and standing together in the fight against cancer.

The creativity was off the charts, everyone arrived in the most amazing outfits and beautifully decorated bras. And then, as if the night wasn’t special enough, we were absolutely stunned by the breathtaking talent of Loreena McKennitt, whose harp performance filled the room with pure magic. 💫

It was a wonderful night of connection, laughter, and fun. A huge thank-you to Leah and the entire Bosom Buddies crew for all your hard work, energy, and heart. Everyone at Wellspring is deeply grateful for everything you poured into this event. đź’—
