PHYSIO COURTNEY:

Courtney was born and raised in Summerland. She graduated with a Masters in Physiotherapy from the University of Queensland in 2016.

As a new graduate, she gained a wealth of knowledge from her mentorship with two titled Sports Physiotherapists in Alice Spring before to returning to Canada.

Her thirst for knowledge led her to another mentorship job working for Diane Lee. During her time at Diane Lee & Associates, Courtney finished the Integrative Systems Model (ISM) Series (more info on our website), became certified in ISM via a case study, assisted with online courses and found her passion for complex pain.

Before Kirk and Courtney opened Physical Pursuit Physiotherapy, she worked at Delta Health and Performance. She had the pleasure of treating elite hockey players of all ages and skill level. Through Delta Health she became a consultant Physiotherapist for the local NHL, WHL and AHL players during the COVID shutdown and their off-seasons. She was able to blend her love of sports therapy with her complex pain management through the lens of ISM.

Courtney’s main focus of her practice is finding the WHY. Her assessment and treatment resolves around solving WHY THINGS HURT, not just treating what hurts.

MEET PHYSIO KIRK 👋

Kirk graduated from the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia with a Masters degree in Physiotherapy in 2016. During his time in Australia, he worked in the remote town of Alice Springs and its surrounding communities. With only one physiotherapy clinic in 1000 km2, he serviced many remote indigenous communities for weeks at a time.

In more recent years Kirk undertook a mentorship position with Diane Lee in South Surrey becoming well versed in the Integrated Systems Model. This has become a foundational aspect of how he assesses and treats patients.

Kirk continues evolve as a therapist by taking a variety postgraduate training courses to help expedite results. Such training includes, dry needling, vestibular and concussion rehabilitation, and golf specific assessment.

Kirk is passionate about working with amateur athletes, weekend warriors as well people pursuing a more active lifestyle no matter their fitness level. He strives to give patients the tools required to achieve their rehabilitation goals. He is focussed on having patients exceed their pre-injury form and get them back to what they are passionate about.

Kirk has been involved in many sports his entire life and is firm believe in an active lifestyle. He currently stays active by playing soccer, hockey and golf. In his spare time he enjoys camping, hiking and travelling.

Kelsey was born and raised in Summerland. After suffering a complicated ACL injury, surgery and recovery, she realized that Kinesiology was her passion. After graduating in 2015 from UBCO, she immediately started in the workforce and even opened her own business, Movement Re-Created.

Kelsey has a talent for training clients for injury prevention, recovering from injuries and return to sport or activity.

WE’RE GROWING! 🌱

We have made the decision to move our clinic to larger space as of January 1st 2024.

Reasoning:
- We need two treatment rooms. Kirk and I would like to work at the same time to allow for more family time and better work-life balance.
- We would like a gym space to move our bodies, swing golf clubs and lift weights

For our current and future clients:
- We will still be located in Summerland, on the same street even!
- We will continue to work out of our current location until January 2024.
- Treatment availability will not be affected (we have a team handling the renos while we keep our current doors open).

We will be located at 13012 Victoria Rd North (between InHouse Performing Arts Studio and the Beanery 👌☕️)

Hi, we’re the Boechlers 👋🏼

I thought I’d reintroduce us now that we are both working at Physical Pursuit. My name is Courtney Boechler, but some of you might know me by my maiden name Parker. I was born and raised in Summerland.

I met my husband, Kirk, while we were both completing our masters of physiotherapy at the University of Queensland. After graduation, we worked in rural Australia before relocating back to Canada.

We both were mentored by Diane Lee in South Surrey, where we began treating in the integrated systems model.

During Covid, we decided to relocate our family back to Summerland for a better work life balance.

We have been serving the Summerland community since 2021 and have grown our family to four in the meantime.

We enjoy treating a variety of injuries and conditions including chronic pain, sports injuries, pelvic health, dizziness/vertigo and concussions. Check out our website for full bios to see if we are a good fit for you.

Stress Urinary Incontinence (leaking urine) effects 50% of all postpartum women. Wilson et al. 2002 followed 7882 women over 7 years after delivering babies and found that 44.6% still had some degree of urinary incontinence.

This study demonstrates how common it is but this doesn’t have to be the norm.

Countries, such as France, who have implemented postpartum physiotherapy care for all moms after delivery have significantly reduced incidences of urinary incontinence. (Lundenberg, 2012)
