Hey you - I see you.
The one pushing forward every day to do what is needed and expected of them. I see that you’re tired, and I see that you’re trying your best to keep it all together for you and your loved ones.
You wake up each day, usually tired, and before your feet even hit the floor, you’re mentally and emotionally preparing for your day. You try to shake the fog from your brain and the aches in your bones as you organize your life - whatever it may look like - kids, pets, work, parents, relationships, medical appointments, etc.
You fulfill all your roles and wipe any tears that may fall as you bravely face the hours of your day (crying is good - tears are good - please try not to hide them!). You give, and you give, depleting your extra energy reserves. Even exhausted, your brain sometimes continues to spin and spiral instead of welcoming sleep and rest.
I see you. I need you to know that whatever you’re facing is significant - even if it’s not what you would consider front page paper or social media “worthy.” I see you and your struggles, and I need you to know you deserve support - today and all the days.
Your emotions are valid. Your feelings are valid. No need to compare despair - what you’re feeling is enough to seek support from others. It’s empowering to know you can take action to feel better. Sometimes that involves speaking to a professional to collaborate on goals, coping skills, and changes to alleviate stressors and mental health symptoms.
Although well-intentioned, advice from friends, family, social media, and celebrity influencers can be misguided or misinformed. Please don’t allow others to dismiss/judge/shame, or enforce their personal beliefs on to you.
I see you - and I hope you are in a position where you can seek support from a mental health professional that you trust. You deserve to have someone professionally trained, empathetic, and non-judgmental to help you carry the weight of your world. Just because you can navigate the stress, doesn’t mean you need to navigate it alone.
I see you - where you’re at currently, where you want to be, and how you’re going to get there.
