Play… till date is the best form of learning medium which open up tremendous opportunities for every child to explore no matter how delayed they are developmentally.

So play, play, play... And play a little more!!!

P L A Y is the 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗼𝘂𝘀 activity of children.

In our therapy sessions with Autistic kids, child-led, adult-guided play is where the magic happens.

Kids can sense when the adult is choosing power and control over compassion and connection.

Broccoli = work
Chocolate = play that is based on interest and joy

Chocolate-covered broccoli 🥦 = adult directed work disguised with toys 🥸

When we write our therapy goals to address regulation, connection, communication, autonomy, and self-advocacy then we can address those skills during ANY activity that is of interest to the Autistic child.

There is no need to write goals about getting the child to play in a certain way. Play is the medium through which we connect and engage. And play is the spontaneous activity of children. 🙌🏼
