Follow-up Meeting with SATO

We had a productive follow-up meeting to advance SATO mission, reflecting on how this partnership aligns with our organizational vision and values. Our discussion focused on building transparency in our collaborative processes and ensuring that accountability remains at the heart of our shared work.

We also explored an exciting joint project planned for launch in the coming months, emphasizing the importance of transparent practices at every stage. Through this experience, we aim to develop a transparency framework for partnerships —that we hope to share with our partners to foster stronger, more successful collaborations and elevate our ventures through trust and openness.

Once we establish our initial mechanisms, we plan to open this alliance to all startups that share our belief in transparency, inviting them to join for mutual learning, support, and sustainable growth.

Dr. Bushra Anwar, CEO of BMY Health, spoke at the Rotary Fundraising Event on “Pakistan’s Challenges in the Global Polio Eradication Initiative.”

Polio eradication remains a shared global responsibility. After decades of progress, losing momentum now due to misinformation or fatigue could undo years of hard-earned gains, putting every nation at risk again. With our frontline teams facing growing challenges and communities showing signs of campaign fatigue, this is the moment to stand together.

Let’s renew our commitment and combine our efforts to . 🌍💪

🧡 National Day for Truth and Reconciliation 🧡

Today, we honour the survivors of residential schools, their families, and the children who never returned home. The legacy of these institutions continues to shape the health and well-being of Indigenous communities, contributing to disparities in mental, physical, and social health.

Let us mark this day by listening to Survivors’ stories, going beyond land acknowledgments with meaningful action, attending community events, amplifying Indigenous voices, and building partnerships. Reconciliation also means ongoing change; challenging colonial systems, unlearning bias, and taking responsibility for the Land we live and work on.

At BMY Health, we recognize reconciliation as a public health priority. Addressing historic harms, building trust, and listening to Indigenous voices are essential for health programs that are equitable, culturally safe, and effective. We stand in solidarity with Indigenous communities, committed to advancing health equity and creating a healthier, more inclusive future for all.

We believe that the future of business is open, honest, and built on trust. SATO is our commitment to walking the walk—by sharing our journey, the good and the challenging, and helping other startups do the same.

This is just the start. We’ll be sharing our own transparency reports, building resources, and fostering a community where collaboration beats competition.

✨ Celebrating the Closing Ceremony of Our Research Internship Program in collaboration with BMY Health, Canada ✨

Today, we successfully concluded another batch of the BMY Health Research Mentoring Program.

Over the past weeks, our interns engaged in intensive training in research methodology, data analysis, manuscript writing, and presentation skills. The closing ceremony was a celebration of their hard work, growth, and resilience.
As part of their journey, interns worked on diverse research projects employing different study designs, including:
🔹 Qualitative phenomenological design exploring self-care practices of diabetes patients — by Aliza, Saad, Farheen, Saba, Mehvish
🔹 Case-control study developing a predictive model to distinguish between high-risk and low-risk cases of lymphadenopathy — by Maryam, Ujala, Saba, Neeta

✨ We also proudly recognized outstanding contributions with special awards:
🏆 Best Intern Awards
Dr. Aliza Hamdani
Dr. Farheen Atif
Dr. Maryam Aftab
🎓 The Top Intern also received a scholarship (25% fee refund).

🌟 Best Mentor Award
Dr. Syed Mustafa Ali

These recognitions were based on a transparent and objective process:
✔️ For interns: 4-month attendance records, peer evaluation scores, and nominations from mentors/admin, focusing on active participation, quality of work, and professionalism.
✔️ For mentors: scores from intern feedback.

While these awards highlight individual strengths, every intern and mentor’s contribution was deeply valued. Each of you played an integral role in this journey, and we are proud of the collective achievements of the entire batch.

🙏 A heartfelt thank you to our co-mentors, instructors, IRB & scientific reviewers, and the coordination team whose guidance shaped this journey — and to our interns for their dedication and passion. Special thanks to Dr. Tahani Zaidi (reviewer for qualitative study) and Dr. Owais Raza (reviewer for quantitative study).

We are also excited to continue supporting our interns through:
📌 Continued access to lectures and resources via our LMS
📌 Audits for ethical closure of projects & knowledge translation activities for effective uptake of findings
📌 Our Alumni Community, a network for collaboration, opportunities, and recognition

At BMY Health, we remain committed to nurturing the next generation of researchers and health leaders. Congratulations once again to all interns — the journey of learning continues! 🚀
