Looking for growth, new challenges and a warmer climate, registered nurse Jay chose B.C. after learning about the province’s commitment to nurse well‑being through the introduction of Minimum Nurse‑to‑Patient Ratios (mNPR) — the first of its kind in Canada, helping nurses focus on what matters most: patient care.

With support from her new manager, guidance from our recruitment teams and financial support for relocating from outside the province, settling into the Tri-Cities was smoother than expected. Now, Jay is thriving in a dynamic role with continuous learning and a close-knit, supportive team.

For Daphne, being a patient care coordinator in the operating room at Burnaby Hospital isn’t just a job — it’s where she’s built her entire career.

For 20 years, Daphne has been part of the Burnaby Hospital team, caring for patients and growing alongside colleagues who feel more like family. “We’re not too big, not too small,” she says. “But we do a lot, and we do it together.”
