Helping you get back to your lifestyle is our priority. At most clinics the physiotherapist will have 3-4 or more patients at the same time, with new patients every 10-15mins. Because of this they have very little time and attention to give you to your needs. Typically you will be hooked up to a machine and left wondering what to do. At Clayton Heights Sports and Therapy Center all appointments are a full 30minutes or longer with one on one care, a hands on, manual therapy approach. This allows more individualized time to assess, treat and help recover faster. A practical, caring hands on treatment allows us to work with you on a customized treatment plan, to help you reach your goals and enhance your lifestyle. We are not only committed to get you “back to work” but want you “back to life”. We listen to your issues and develop a plan to bring you back to 100% (or better). We have a multi-disciplined approach and our therapists may combine to help reach your goals

Making your road to recovery easier. Acupuncture it’s covered by ICBC https://claytonheightssports.janeapp.com/ #/discipline/1/treatment/381 How Acupuncture Helps with Motor Vehicle Accident Injuries

Reduces Pain and Inflammation
Acupuncture stimulates the release of natural pain-relieving neurotransmitters such as endorphins, enkephalins, and serotonin, helping to decrease pain while supporting the body’s healing processes. It also helps reduce inflammation in injured muscles and joints.

Regulates the Nervous System and Stress Response
Accidents often trigger the body’s “fight or flight” response, causing heightened sympathetic nervous system activity and increased stress hormones like cortisol. Acupuncture helps restore balance by activating the parasympathetic (rest-and-digest) system, reducing cortisol levels, calming the nervous system, and supporting emotional recovery.

Improves Circulation and Healing
By increasing blood flow to affected areas, acupuncture supports tissue repair, eases muscle tightness, and promotes faster recovery.

Relieves Muscle Tension and Spasms
Whiplash, back, or shoulder injuries from MVAs often lead to persistent muscle tension. Acupuncture helps relax tight muscles, improving mobility and reducing discomfort.

Complements Other Treatments
Acupuncture works well alongside physiotherapy, massage therapy, and chiropractic care, helping patients tolerate exercise and manual therapy more comfortably.

Helps with Chronic or Lingering Pain
For patients who continue to experience pain months after an accident, acupuncture can help reset pain pathways, improve function, and provide long-term pain relief naturally.

Acupuncture really does help post car accident and it’s covered by ICBC https://claytonheightssports.janeapp.com/ #/discipline/1/treatment/381 How Acupuncture Helps with Motor Vehicle Accident Injuries

After a motor vehicle accident, it’s common to experience pain, stiffness, headaches, muscle tension, or nerve-related symptoms. These issues can appear immediately or develop gradually over time. Acupuncture is an excellent first-line treatment, especially in the acute phase, because it is gentle, well-tolerated, and can be tailored to each patient’s comfort and condition.
