As a Medical laboratory technologist, an aromatherapist and an organic skin care formulator I have the background and knowledge to ensure all products meet the needs of all our diverse clients we get the pleasure of serving daily.
I often get asked this question “How did you get into formulating Skincare?” As an eight-year-old girl living in India, I was constantly bombarded with images that “fair skin is beautiful”. My childhood consisted of elderly women prying my mom, asking her, “Who does she look like?”.
Realizing early on in my childhood that I looked different from my other siblings; that they had fair skin and I did not. At this point, I began searching for home remedies in local newspapers to lighten my skin, to fit into the ideals of beauty created by seniors in India.
However, little did I know that these home remedies were temporary fixes. It is this childhood story that pushed me to ensure all men and women feel beautiful in their own skin and my hope is that no one ever feels the way I did growing up; hence, the creation of EO Healing’s skin care line. This was further realized at the age of fourteen, when I moved to Canada. A country where you could see people with different skin tones and colours. This is where I finally became comfortable in my own skin and could finally breathe.
A similar journey and learning curve would occur sixteen years later, after the birth of my first son. I suffered from post-partum anxiety which led me to reading labels of items and found it startling the amount of chemicals being used in products and how these chemicals disrupt one’s hormones and innately effects one’s mental health. This was another driving force in creating a skin care line and aromatherapy line that I felt safe using on myself and my family. It was a two-year process of trial and error to create and formulate the products and we proudly opened our doors to the public in 2012 to share our creations with you.
It is now our goal to ensure we are providing safe products to use while empowering both men and women to feel confident in their own skin.
