🗝️🐍 Bog Oak and Graveyard Yew Wand 🐍🗝️ Handcarved from Bog Oak and Graveyard Yew, this wand was made to the specifications of the Hekataeon by Jack Grayle. It has a Handcarved spiral in the handle, as well as the seven Ancient Greek vowels burned into the central point. Set with a Black Moonstone crescent 🌑, a rough Sapphire and a rough Garnet, this wand is an embodiment of Hekatean power.
Yew is a tree of life and death, for its habit of reaching great age and rotting away within its center only to put up new growth from its roots - with some arbours reaching over a thousand years old, often by ancient graveyards and cathedrals in England. It is a tree of Earth 🪨 and Saturn 🪐, making it a valuable ally for use in workings of protection, necromancy, divination. It is said that Hekate and the Furies hold torches of flaming yew, the former to guide the souls of the dead and travellers and the later to punish those who brake sacred laws. It is a poisonous wood, and therefore not consumed or worked with without a mask and gloves ideally, making it a tree of the poison path of veneficum. Indeed, the word toxic comes from the Latin name for Yew.
Bog Oak is very rare and hard to come by wood chosen specifically for its properties and virtues. Created when ancient oak trees were flooded and burried within peat bogs, the minerals and Tanika changing the colour and composition of the wood over thousands of years to achieve a black colouration. Having grown under the sun, and risen to the sky, to fall to earth and be entombed by water and chsnged by time - it is a powerful material. Connected to all four elements, while Holding the properties of oak’s strength and wisdom enhanced by time and transformation, it also holds powers of life and death, having lived, died, and returned to the surface once more - but imbued with heavenly and chthonic forces. Only suitable for a wand dedicated to The Titaness who passes between realms freely and holds power over all.
