https://pairodocs.substack.com/.../making-death-the-easy... This is our last of 3 pieces on the MAiD debacle, which dives into several of the bones of contention that have arisen from discussion on the first 2 pieces.
Several points of contention have resulted in some heated discussions and disagreements in our comments. But I find that most are a result of people misunderstanding each other, as opposed to actually disagreeing.
For instance the article parses the difference between euthanasia and assisted su***de, and having the right to die versus the state having the obligation to kill you if you ask. These are seemingly small details but are actually critical.

Trying to define the difference between being suicidal and wanting to die is like arguing about the difference between 6 and a half-dozen.
If a patient comes to me saying that he is chronically depressed and wants to die, does "helping" him mean trying my best to help him find meaning, purpose, and direction, or does it mean putting a needle in his vein and administering drugs that end his life?
Soon, regulations will mean I have to participate in helping him with the latter option.

https://pairodocs.substack.com/p/the-covid-19 This is why the MSM is dying/dead. Julie wrote about the issue of lockdown weight gain 3 and a half years ago. But only now are CBC listeners allowed to think "geez, maybe lockdown had some bad effects!". What Scott Adams says is so true: society is divided into groups who are basically watching a different movie of reality playing on the screen.
What is even more insidious is that the headline changed. The original was more direct: "Obesity Rates in Canada jumped during COVID-19" (even this is obfuscating, as the truth would be "Obesity rates jumped during government-imposed lockdowns"). But clicking on the same link now brings up the modified headline "1/3 of Canadians are obese, but researchers saw a steeper increase during COVID-19".
The first headline is so blatantly stupid that it makes it seem that CBC reporters have been wandering around chasing butterflies for several years, and have just cottoned on to something that most of us with open eyes saw years ago. My guess is that they realized that their own headline made them look bad, so modified it to be less of an own-goal. I'd love to hear an explanation from CBC as to why it changed.

Not only do drug companies use their PR machines (which are larger than their R&D divisions) to upsell their own drugs, but also to eliminate the less expensive, unpatentable competition.
People can debate whether or not hydroxychloroquine or ivermectin work for COVID, but there is no question that these drugs were targeted and smeared by an organized, well-funded campaign.
Julie first saw this in action with the campaign against St. John's Wort almost a quarter century ago. Here's how they do it...

https://dredles.substack.com/p/dont-trust-me-im-a-doctor Many docs lament the declining respect for physicians, and the medical system in general. Personally I think this decline is a sign of a great awakening. People are starting to think for themselves, rather than to blindly trust us.
We physicians deserve to be less respected after the debacle that is the last decades of evolution of the profession. We have become automaton-kiosks, mindlessly prescribing drugs and vaccines “as per guidelines”.

The lowering of standards for entrance to med school is just another step down in the erosion of standards of independence and competency.
