Independent Crop Inputs

Independent Crop Inputs Full service crop input retail. ICI was born out of a vision to bring back a full service independent ag-retailer to Southern Alberta. The pour is excellent.

Five key shareholders began contemplating what this return would look like. Our desire is to participate in the local community and to be truly customer driven rather than shareholder driven. A formal business plan gave way to partners, investors, and agreements with builders and suppliers. Dirt began moving on site in August, 2016. Additionally, we are partnered with Summit Ag Alliance for buying power across most product lines. The team at ICI is grateful to everyone who has supported this vision. We recognize that core characteristics are required for long term presence in the community:
-Partner with the best people at every level
-Recognize that we exist to build people. To do this we must work
with all farms...not just one sector nor one type of operation; ALL
farms.
-Relationships build Trust. ICI is clearly aware of the need to earn Trust with our relationships at every level

The Fertilizer Shed:
This is a 7,000 MT storage and blending shed divided into 8 separations for custom blending solutions. In the fall of 2016, 62 loads of concrete were placed for the fertilizer shed ahead of the winter freeze...it was a deadline that had to be met and our partners were excellent in meeting Mother Nature's deadline! The internal blending system will blend and ship at 300MT per hour. We anticipate loading Super B's in 10 to 12 minutes. All truck traffic will simply circle the shed from the access road and proceed back to farm. Software integration will efficiently translate custom blends from the office to the shed for blending and shipping. The roof-line on the shed at the peak is 40' high and the height of the shipping elevator is 90'. Office and Warehouse:
The decision to build the office 'up rather than out' was made based on the cost efficiency of a smaller foot print for construction. This building includes: office and administration space, shop, chemical storage and cold seed storage. Services offered:
Fertilizer and crop nutrition
Liquid fertilizer (summer of 2018)
Chemical supply
Agronomy services
Application services (through our partner)
