Mike Yakubowich, a resident of Thamesville, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at his home at the age of 65. Born in Chatham, the son of the late William "H***y Odie" 1985 and Jeanne (Richardson) Yakubowich 2004. Best friend and soulmate of 21 years to Gina. Loving dad of Amanda Yakubowich, Chris Yakubowich, Jessica Pratt (Austin) and Joe Duff (Jordan). Proud Papa of Madison, Mason, Maxwell, Bowen and Stella-Jean. Cherished brother of Dave Yakubowich "Tickets". Remembered by his niece Teagan and nephew Drew. Dear son-in-law of Jerry Zruna (the late Emma-Jean 2007). Loved brother-in-law of Steve Zruna (Christy), Chris Zruna (Sam) and Jodi Huys (Dave). Mike was a man that spent over 40 years behind the wheel of an 18 wheeler. He loved the open road and the 1980's culture of trucking. He was known by the CB handle "Snoman" just like Smokey and the Bandit. Rightly so by his owning a black Trans Am and a Kenworth Truck. If it had a high performance motor, Mike was part of that love. From snowmobile drag racing to car drag racing to tractor pulling. And if it was a tractor...it had to be a green John Deere. Mike also had a love of animals, especially his little buddy Tito. The Yakubowich family will remember Mike privately. A Celebration of Mike's Life will be held at Royal Canadian Legion Br. 113, Dresden at a later date. If desired, donations may be made to PAW Rescue or charity of your choice. With heavy hearts, we announce that Jennifer “Jj” Sayers (Laur) peacefully lost her courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by the love of her family.

She was the devoted wife and love of life to Jeff Sayers, proud mom to Ethan (Taylor) and Grace (Jesse), and most recently blessed with her favourite title yet — Nana to Nash and Amelia. She was the beloved daughter of Leo and Sandy Laur, cherished sister to Gail Dolby(Allan), Leeann Laur (Matt), and Justin Laur (Shelby). Treasured daughter-in-law to Dale and Marilyn Sayers and sister-in-law to Andrea Sayers (Brett) and Rob Sayers. Favourite aunt to Lauren, Derek, and Trevor Dolby, Andrew and Cameron Sayers, Benjamin Leeson, Ava and Ella Rivett, Gavin and Ella Laur. She was also chosen family to Nathan Sangster, who held a special place in her heart.

Jj spent her years living on their farm, where her home was always full of warmth (literally) and her door always open. Visitors knew that if they popped in, they just might find themselves helping her rearrange a room — as she was always curating the perfect space. She was the first to offer a helping hand, always giving freely of herself to others.

She was a champion shopper who could outlast and outshop anyone, especially on Black Friday or town wide garage sales, she loved the thrill of a good deal. She treasured long conversations, always ready to lend a listening ear and her thoughtful advice. Summers brought her joy at their seasonal trailer, where she and Jeff made lifelong friendships at Lorne Henderson. She was blessed with too many friends to list them all, each of whom will carry a piece of her spirit forward.

Her fight with cancer reflected exactly who she was — small but mighty — always pushing back against the odds with courage, strength, and determination.

The family wishes to thank everyone for their incredible support over the past several months, with special gratitude to Bridgette from VON, Dr. Kim, Dr Lebert and the palliative care floor at Bluewater Health Sarnia.

Now, as she takes her final corvette ride, we can only imagine her speeding down a heavenly highway, top down, with the wind in her hair, cold Diet Pepsi in hand and the roar of the engine echoing through eternity. You will be loved, remembered, and missed forever Jennifer.

Cremation has taken place. A private service will be held at a later date with interment in Dresden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Bluewater Health Palliative Care Unit or your favourite charity.

In loving memory of Sherry Leah Fry

On August 30, 2025, we lost the most kind-hearted, generous, and selfless woman. She passed suddenly but peacefully at London University Hospital. She fought the odds with strong will and courage long enough to know her family was surrounding her with their white light and love. It brought her visible comfort, and she knew it was okay to accept the Angels were calling her home.

Sherry is predeceased by her long time love and common-law spouse Carl Hawley. Her mother and father John & Hilda (nee Whale) Perry, brothers Jim Whale, Wayne Perry, Sherman Perry and Carl Perry; sister Jacqueline Perry and granddaughter Summer Raine Taylor. She is survived by her sisters Brenda Pratt (Jerry) and Janet Perry; by her loving children Kristin Fry (Dave Taylor), Daniel Fry (Meagen Osborne), Tina Alderdice (Bryon) and Nicole Hawley (JL Laprise).

She was a very encouraging and supportive mother. The grandmother that liked to shower her grandkids with surprises and always made sure they had a snack for the road! She was known to be "The FUN Aunt" to many nieces and nephews. She shared a deep connection with her grandson Christopher Taylor as they spent a lot of time together throughout his life. Sherry also cherished a special bond she shared with her best friends, Donna Thompson and Vera Taylor.

Sherry lived most of her life in Dresden and surrounding area and is known in the community. She was a dedicated and hard working employee for most of her life. From the long shifts at the factory to her many years as the friendly face at Clark's Home Hardware, where she retired early.

In earlier days, she was a long standing member of the Kinsmen & Kinnette Club of Canada. She volunteered much of her time being active in the community and participated in organizing various events, fundraisers and parades for the Club. She loved to give back and was always there to lend a hand.

As life slowed down for Sherry, she focused mainly on spending time with family and making memories with those she loved.

She always loved the holidays. Putting on family dinners for Easter and Thanksgiving. Handing out the best candy bags on Halloween. But Christmas time was always her favorite! She'd make sure everybody had lots to open on Christmas morning, always leaving her own gifts till last. But she always kept with her tradition and gave a special gift on Christmas Eve.

Her and Carl shared a passion for gardening. Together, every year they grew a variety of blooming flowers in their many flowerbeds, which were affectionately plucked and pruned. As well as diligently tending to a large and often impressive vegetable garden! They took great pride in that.

Sherry was known as a protective mother, a fairy grandmother, a strong sister, a fun aunt and a trustworthy friend you can always count on.

In our hearts she will remain. Our memories of her are now sacred visions that will echo on in eternity. Sherry left an imprint on everyone who knew her. She will be cherished, remembered and missed by many. Rest easy until we meet again. XoXo

Family and friends will be received at Badder Funeral Home & Reception, 679 North, Dresden on Thursday, September 11, 2025 from 1-3pm and 6-8pm. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025 from 1-5 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, Br 113, Dresden.

Don continued to work with John and Jason before retiring. He and Shirley continue to reside in Bothwell. In 2000 the former Grace Anglican Church, Bothwell was purchased and became the new home of the Badder & Robinson Funeral Home.
