Food bank usage has doubled since 2019 and is 5.2 per cent higher than it was last year. Food security is directly and profoundly connected to mental well-being.

With that in mind, Students Offering Support (SOS) ran the "We Scare Hunger" campaign throughout October, collecting non-perishable food items. Through the support of staff and administration (who encouraged donations with bonus marks, food matching, and a draw for a free RD Parker athletics hoodie), SOS compiled a LOT of food.

Futures & Babies’ Best Start was pleased to accepted the other half.

Thank you all who donated to SOS's food drive. Your support made a difference to these 2 worthy organizations.

A big thank you also goes to Ms. Foley, Ms. Jenkins, and Ms. Stillie for all their hard work in organizing the food drive! Your efforts through SOS shine a positive, inclusive and hopeful light on RDPC and the Thompson community!

A big thank you to School District of Mystery Lakes SOS shine a positive program you generosity will help many families who are facing food shortages.
