What are prism lenses?

Prism lenses are special lenses that are prescribed by eye doctors and infused into regular lens prescriptions. They do not contain any focusing power, and therefore cannot correct any refractive errors. Prisms “trick” the eye into believing that an object is in a different location in order to improve eye alignment.

On April 8, Alberta will experience a PARTIAL solar eclipse (between 11:48AM and 1:38PM). In our area, 26% of the sun will be obscured by the moon. Viewing the eclipse without proper eye protection, even briefly, can cause permanent damage.

We have a limited number of solar eclipse glasses available for purchase at our clinic.

If you want to experience the TOTAL solar eclipse happening in other parts of Canada/North America, consider watching an online stream!

Are you a Senior with an upcoming Birthday, and require a Visual Referral Report to get your drivers license? Don't forget to give us a call first (before booking your drivers medical), so we can book you in for an eye exam, and fill out that form for you to take to the Registries office. Note, we usually are booking a good 2-3 weeks ahead in our schedule, so plan accordingly. We look forward to seeing you in our office!

According to the interwebs it's International Carrot Day, here's what google says about carrots and eye health..."A diet of carrots won't give a blind person 20/20 vision. But, the vitamins found in the vegetable can help promote overall eye health. Carrots contain beta-carotene, a substance that the body converts to vitamin A, an important nutrient for eye health. An extreme lack of vitamin A can cause blindness."
