Mental Health Therapist
Location: Thunder Bay, ON (Hybrid – in-office and virtual)
Position Type: Part time growing to full time
Amethyst Wellness Group is seeking an experienced Mental Health Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. We provide a supportive, client-centered environment for therapists who are committed to helping individuals, couples, and families achieve meaningful change.
Required Qualifications
• Master’s degree in Social Work, Counselling Psychology, or a related mental health field (MSW preferred).
• Registration in good standing with a regulatory body recognized by insurance companies providing extended health benefits for counselling (e.g., OCSWSSW, College of Psychologists, College of Registered Psychotherapists).
• Minimum of five years of professional counselling experience.
• Minimum availability of 10 hours per week to start.
Preferred Qualifications
• Certification in Clinical Hypnotherapy, EMDR, and/or Internal Family Systems (IFS).
• Experience in couples counselling, as well as working with children, teens, and families.
• Group facilitation experience is considered an asset.
Role and Benefits
• Hybrid model: Combination of in-person sessions at our Thunder Bay office, with flexibility to provide online or telephone sessions from home. (This is not a fully virtual role.)
• Flexible scheduling: Set your own hours. Four-day work weeks are available.
• Evening/weekend option: Preference for candidates able to offer one evening per week (until 8:00 pm) and/or 1–2 Saturdays per month. Applicants who are only available evenings and Saturdays will also be considered.
• Compensation: $50–$100+ per hour
Professional development: Successful candidates will be eligible to participate free of charge in our upcoming Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist Training Program through Healing Minds Academy.
