♥️
Today is Red Dress Day, also known as the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People (MMIWG2S+) . This day honors and brings awareness to the thousands of Indigenous women, girls, and two-spirit individuals who have been disproportionately affected by violence in Canada .
Looking for ways to commemorate this important day? ❤️
- Attend seminars and workshops or read the final report of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.
- Wear a red dress, display red dresses in public spaces, or put a red light outside your door.
- Attend gatherings such as ceremonies, marches and vigils which will be shared throughout the day on our stories.
Fort Garry Women's Resource Centre honours and stands in solidarity with MMIWG2S+ families on this day of remembering.
