Good News! The Chief Medical Officer of Health has stated that Health Care Providers may gradually restart non-essential and elective services in Ontario.
Both the Ministry of Health and the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario have set out COVID-19 operational directives for gradual restart in order to minimize the spread of infection.
I will be implementing these directives in the clinic and opening to the public starting the week of June 15th. I look forward to being able to serve the Thunder Bay area!
Some of the directives include:
- Conduct screening before scheduling appointments, and upon entry to the clinic.
- Not providing in-person clinical services to individuals with signs and symptoms consistent with COVID-19.
- Have all staff wearing personal protective equipment.
- Ensure that the instruments in the consultation room are cleaned with a surface disinfectant before and after each consultation.
- Stagger patient appointments to minimize patient contact in the waiting room and when possible, remain two meters away from team members, staff, patients, and other individuals when within the clinic.
- Wash or sanitize hands before and after treatment and asking patients to wash or sanitize hands upon arrival and departure.
- Encourage use of face masks for all patients.
I appreciate your patience and support in following the directives and guidance set out by the Ministry of Health, Public Health Ontario, the Chief Medical Officer of Health, and CTCMPTAO regarding practices during COVID-19.
