Today, we pause for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, honouring the survivors of residential schools, the children that never came home, and their families and communities.
Today is also known as Orange Shirt Day, inspired by the story of residential school survivor Phyllis Webstad. Now, wearing an orange shirt has become a symbol of hope, reconciliation, and a commitment to a better future.

The St. John Ambulance Tails on Trails Virtual Walk-a-Thon is just around the corner! 👟
One of the best things about a virtual walk-a-thon? You get to choose your adventure! Will you walk:
St. John Ambulance Kenora Branch was pleased to come out and support the participants in the 45th Annual Terry Fox Run.
After running 5,373 kilometres in 143 days, Terry Fox raised approximately 2 million dollars for Cancer Research. Sadly, he had to stop his Marathon of Hope here in Thunder Bay.
His legacy still continues on, and we here at St. John Ambulance are proud to be a part of that, whether it's cheering on racers, providing first aid services, or watching someone we know participate.

Community Services volunteers include uniformed members who serve communities across Canada, providing first aid and emergency response support, as well as improving the quality of life for people confined to a health care facility through our Therapy Dog visitation program. Our volunteers contribute millions of hours to Canadian communities each year.
First aid and CPR training comprises instructors, volunteers and staff who provide high-quality first aid training and products.
