Hanusia Tkaczyk- Mental Health Counsellor & Registered Psychotherapist

Hanusia Tkaczyk- Mental Health Counsellor & Registered Psychotherapist Individual counselling sessions for adults seeking mental health and wellness, integrating body-mind-spirit.

For over 40 years I have assisted clients to improve their mental health in settings such as health care, higher education and private practice. To facilitate clients' recovery and growth, we work to integrate body, mind and spirit. Areas of specialty include trauma/abuse, mood disorders, personal growth and the use of dreams and expressive techniques in therapeutic work. EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique or Tapping) is one of the effective, evidence-based interventions that we may use together. Clients are helped to tune in to their whole selves, including awareness of emotional and bodily cues right within the therapy session. Reaching better mental health is a collaborative process.

National Grief & Bereavement Day - November 18, 2025

Many people find it awkward to talk about death, loss, or grief. Grief is often misunderstood – by those who are experiencing it and by those trying to help.

Everyone will face loss at some point, but few of us are prepared for how long it can last, how deep it can feel, or how it changes our lives and the lives of the people we love.

When personal connection matters most, many who are grieving feel alone, misunderstood, and unsupported. Even well-meaning friends and family often struggle to provide comfort or guidance in the ways that are most helpful.

On National Grief and Bereavement Day, support grief literacy in Canada.
you can tune in November 13 at 12:00 PM ET for our first Grief & Bereavement Community of Practice education series with Dr. Susan Cadell.

My Story

It’s been my pleasure and privilege to help people with their mental health concerns for the past 40 years. The work has taken me to the health care system, a post-secondary institution and private practice. To facilitate clients' recovery and growth, I help them to integrate of body, mind and spirit, turning intention into action. In addition, I am considered an engaging presenter and workshop facilitator. Areas of training and experience include trauma/abuse, mood disorders (depression and anxiety), substance abuse, personal growth and the use of dreams and expressive techniques in therapeutic work. I assist my clients in tuning in to their whole selves, including awareness of emotional and bodily cues right within the therapy session. More recently, I have begun to integrate Mindfulness practices, developments in brain science and somatic (body0-centred) therapy techniques into my clinical approach.

It is a joy and a privilege to collaborate with clients in a trusting professional relationship, as we seek to improve their well-being. Together, we support and improve their resilience, foster hope and add new items to their collection of coping skills.
