😩 QUESTION OF THE WEEK 😩 “What are some exercises specific for low back pain?” Our answer? It depends! We really want to find out what is the root cause of your back pain - with the help of a medical professional such as a physiotherapist, athletic therapist, chiropractor or doctor. Beware of the videos that promise you miracle cures with a few movements - they are often just trying to sell you a product! Very generally, some core strengthening exercises can be helpful and walking is scientifically proven to be beneficial for low back pain 😁

First up, our team of highly trained professionals. We pride ourselves on providing top-quality care, and it shows in the feedback we get. Here’s a quote from one of our clients:

“My mom really enjoys having her workers come during the week. They have very good communication when emailing about inquiries for service.”

It’s all about building those strong, trusting relationships with the people we serve. Stay tuned for more on how we make a difference!"

💪🏼 QUESTION OF THE WEEK 💪🏼 “Shpuld we stretch before and after exercise?” Stretching after a workout can sometimes be the best part! It feels great, you can reduce tension, you improve your flexibility and it can have real benefits for your recovery. But what about stretching before you exercise? Stretching cold muscles could cause a strain or increase your risk of injury. Think of a cold rubber band and how difficult that is to move - your muscles behave the same way. We want to warm up first! You can add some stretches into a dynamic warm-up if that feels good for you - see the video for a couple of examples. Remember that any stretches should feel good and they should not cause pain or extreme discomfort - that’s your body‘s way of telling you to stop!

🙋‍♀️ QUESTION OF THE WEEK 🙋‍♀️ “is it better to exercise for 30 minutes every day or 1 hour every other day?”
This is a great question! Ultimately it depends - on what you want to do, on what you enjoy, what you have time for. Every other day exercise might be something that you can more easily tolerate but maybe you don’t have time in your day for a whole hour. Shorter and more frequent workouts can be beneficial if you’re trying to build the habit to really make it stick. We want to make sure we’re keeping exercise guidelines in mind (150 minutes per week of moderate to vigorous intensity activity) but there is no right or wrong way to organize that. What works best for you, is what is best for you!
